obviously your joking and i guess it's kind of funny.. but officially Korra is straight and like boys, not girls... they may love each other as friends, but that's where it ends... its's probably only a matter of time before Korra gets back with Mako.
Just a couple points:
1.) Many LGBTQ people conform to heteronormative relationships only to change/realize/accept/what-have-you their sexuality later in life. It's not an unheard of or even unusual happening. I'm not saying that's happening with Korra, but I think it's safe to say that her romance with Mako was more or less her conducting an experiment in romance/sexuality.
2.) They (Korra and Asami) certainly are closer to each other than they are to the two brothers, or any of the other characters for that matter. Whether that's friendship or a romance brewing is up to you to decide, but I for one think the evidence is pointing more and more towards the later. (It would certainly explain the whole switching to online-only fiasco. I doubt Nick would be too thrilled about showing openly gay characters on network television and incurring the wrath that Disney did for doing the same.)
3.) I seriously doubt Korra and Mako are getting back together romantically by series' end. They're about as likely as Toph and Aang (though fanfiction writers, bless their hearts, have certainly tried).

it would only be a solution to perverted fans that have too much time on their hands.. good thing perverts aren't in charge of the show
Two characters who enjoy each others company, and have better chemistry than with any other person on the show being together?
PERVERTS
To be fair, his statement was in response to your suggestion that the three of them (Korra, Asami, Mako) end up in a mutually polyamorous affair. Which, even then, isn't necessarily perverted, but I would personally dispute that possibility just because Mako would be and is such a weak link.
Personally, I would have preferred Bolin starting something with Asami (you know, since we're on this perversion trip), given their good chemistry in the early episodes of Season 2. The creators haven't expanded upon that, which obviously leaves them to be just good friends for now, which is also fine, but still.
Single Korra is still my favorite Korra (inasmuch as I can tolerate her at all), because for all the adventures she'd had, she (and Mako)'s still too immature to be trusted in a serious romantic relationship.
...but anyway, back on topic:
One thing I don't get is how Kuvira's army managed to replicate Varrick's technology (or hopes to, if they haven't yet). He blew up the one and only lab working on it, presumably with all the relevant notes and schematics and such also destroyed. Also, if he's the only one working on this energy-from-spirits-oh-fuck-it-let's-just-call-it-Mako-Reactors-already thing, then why do they have that detecting device thing that whatshisface uses to say "These are a thousand times more packed with spirit energy"? Like, what purpose could it possibly have served BEFORE they decided to use spirit vines as energy/weapon?
Just... argh. I knew this would be a dumb plot point the moment Varrick mentioned vines and spirit energy.
