So... not much at all, I guess.

Steven Universe...don't know, Star vs The Forces of Evil?, My Little Pony, Adventure time...don't know...

Anyways...
I love the show. I don't watch it as intently as Steven Universe or Adventure Time since its not plot heavy like they are, but for being a cartoon that is a cartoon its really good.

Also it has what is essentially a dead baby joke in it that was hilarious. And it addresses interspecies breeding, which is usually ignored in cartoons. When tons of animals act like people, yet the mice date eachother and the rabbits date eachother etc, its odd.

I thought we were finally going to talk about Gumball 3000. Well, there's still time I guess.

I'll watch it if there's nothing else on and I'm trying to kill time. Sometimes I even really enjoy an episode, but it's not my favorite show. It's certainly better than most of the other stuff Cartoon Network airs now, but there are times when I want to just punch Gumball in the face.

Prime example: the episode where their neighbor is moving. There's dumb, there's Gumball dumb, and then there's what Gumball and Darwin were in that episode. I swear, I'm surprised Mr. Robertson didn't shoot them.

I get it. Gumball's supposed to be a moron. It's funny for kids nowadays (that makes me feel old), but there is a limit to the stupidity that I can take. And many times, I find that Gumball goes past those limits and I want to throw him across the room and out the window.

I admit I never really give this show a chance. Well ok I watched one or two episodes at the start of season 1 and went "meh" and gave up on it. I just felt the whole premier was just they thrown a bunch of different animation styles togethers into one show and that it.

Granted the only time I did show interest toward is the Mike Inel anime version of it and I am not talking about the 18+ one.

If it's on, and there's nobody around to judge me, I'll watch it: I quite enjoy the huge variety of animation styles they use in just about every scene.

The Amazing World of Gumball is one of my favorite cartoons of all time. I love Adventure Time, Rick and Morty makes my short of list best television shows live or animated, I love Gravity Falls and Regular Show and Steven Universe, and a relatively new cartoon called Clarence is actually pretty good once you give it a chance.

So now that you know I love all that nerdy crap that most of us love I will say that The Amazing World of Gumball is a super well done show that is consistently funny and smart. The animation quality is good but the character design is great, there are so many weird things going on there yet the world is so familiar you forget that there is a t-rex and a giant bigfoot with a witch for a mother and just think of them all as regular people.

They do some super creative scripts, stuff like them going to find the internet and the musical they did, they are always doing really inventive things you don't see in any other cartoons really.

This is one show I can easily recommend to anyone, kid, adult, doesn't matter. It is so out there and yet completely relatable all at the same time while always being funny.

Don't worry about judgement. I'm a working adult and I will watch this stuff in front of other people. Good shows are good shows. Adults 50 years ago watched the Flintstones on primetime and adults watch American Dad, Family Guy, Archer, etc. Animated shows are just as valid for an adult to watch as a child.

You raise a valid point, but I'm just old-fashioned in this regard. Plus I'm already skirting the edges of parental disappointment by remaining at home, and I'm not sure how much longer I can deflect their cries of "Why don't you get a job!?" with "I'm a full-time university student!", so slacking off on the couch and watching cartoons doesn't look great.

That makes sense to me. I have my own place and support myself so no one can hold anything over me. Good luck with school and the jobs market!

I've been invited to do Honours next year on account of my kickass academic talents, so that should be enough to buy me respite from them and the real world for another year or so. And thanks!

It's... a lot more subversive than I tend to give it credit for... However, it wasn't until the latter episodes when certain characters (like Gumball and Darwin) got a slight redesign that it actually caught my attention at its general subversion tactics... Then again, each episode [almost] has a moment where I burst out laughing at how clever a particular [comedic] scene was executed, so there's that...

Other than that, I put it slightly above Clarence (assuming were discounting the two reboot series and anything LEGO-related) and, at times, current Regular Show/Adventure Time, but not above Steven Universe even during the earlier episodes...

I don't know what RG is...did you mean Regular Show? When it comes to The Amazing World of Gumball though, I really like that show! I won't stop everything I'm doing to watch it but it's a show that I would prefer to have on in the background. I like how when it's on, Cartoon Network has enough of a backlog to play a variety of episodes (which doesn't happen for shows like Star vs...yet). I love how imaginative Gumball is and the multimedia character design is really cool to watch.

I also really like Wander Over Yonder, Gravity Falls, I saw my first Harvey Beaks and really liked it, Star vs The Forces of Evil...I fell out with MLP after the Weird Al episode because there is no way to top that. Wonder had an amazing Weird Al episode but I keep watching that because of how much other weird and funny stuff still happens in that series.
