I have had lots of fun watching nordic combined and cross-country skiing (particularly Petter Northug's awesome finish in the 4x10 relay), but my enthusiasm has been greatly dampened by the 8-minute commercial breaks every 5 minutes and constant switching between sports. And I wish we could see more of the actual competition and fewer human interest stories.

But what do you think?

I've loved it. Lots of medals for Canada and Switzerland. I love Alpine Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, and Hockey the most. So fun to watch. I just wish I could get one of those striped Canada toques with the pom on top, but they're sold out EVERYWHERE.

I really enjoy the sports side and the atmosphere of it all but I really hate the corporate side.

As you said, the sport to ad ratio is pretty shitty.

I've really enjoyed the hockey thus far. Finland and Czech Republic all tied up 0-0 in the 3rd.

I'm amazed how neither team has scored a single goal yet. Just goes to show how awesome Kippersoff and Vokoun are.

EDIT: And as I type this, the Czechs score a goal.

Anyways, I've been enjoying these games so far. The hockey tournament is one of the best I can remember seeing, and the games in general have been fun to watch.

Fucking awesome game! Did you see that chance for the Czechs?! And what a bad goal!!

I am loving it, I have been into Vancouver twice already to enjoy the festivities and I couldn't be happier about my beautiful country/province hosting the Olympics!

I think you guys have done a fine job with the Olympics. I'm really hoping for a U.S./Canada rematch for the men's hockey gold medal.

Remember the Olympics support social Darwinism
+Russia and Canada always win the winter Olympics, some things are just certain.

Well...the USA is in the lead in medal count (although that's not that surprising), and Germany's in second.

Empty Net goal for Finland! It will be US/Finland in the semis!

Thank you very much sir! I like to think so too!

And it sure is looking that way! It'll be a long road for both teams, but the US is playing pretty damn good!

Those Swiss womens curlers were drop dead gorgeous. That's about all i'll remember in about 3 months.

Well, after Canada's performance today, I would be very, very surprised if Canada doesn't make it to the gold medal round. The US needs Miller to continue being a beast.

Was happy to see you guys send Ovie home, although it was a little disheartening to see Malkin and Gonch not get a medal outta this one. (Yes, I'm a Pens fan, but don't worry, I'm no bandwagoner. I fell in love with hockey last year around this time, but I had no fav. team. Some friends of mine are diehard Pittsburgh Penguins fans, so they invited me to watch some games. I was of the great fortune to become a fan of the team that went on to win the Stanley Cup, haha. I've followed the Pens since then, watching the games online when I can.)

Psh, I hate the Penguins!

And ya, I think losing to the US was damn good for Canada, look how they played against the Ruskies!

Are you a Caps fan or Flyers fan? If not, we cool. (Just kidding, I'm cool with a few Caps and Flyers fans...a very select few.)

Along with the disappointment over the loss, the thing that best helped Canada was switching out Brodeur for Luongo. I know Marty has had a very distinguished, stellar career, but he just was awful against the US in the prelims.

Luongo being in net, along with disappointment over the loss to the US, seems to have really gotten Canada into top gear.

Montreal Canadiens baby!

Ya, Brodeur is certainly well respected but he played like a damn fool in that game, diving all over the place like a monkey or somehting!

Yup, they are certainly in a high gear to beat Russia like that!
