I couldn't care less about mod support
You'd care if Chuck Norris and He-man were in it.
¬_¬
THATS your mod argument?
I couldn't care less about either of them...

Captain Picard Vs Godzilla....Now thats a different story
Man you're really taking this seriously. I suggest you calm down.

Man, am I in the comedy store or what?

Too funny.
I was unaware comedy was sold...in stores...

I'm sorry, did you get your brain on discount? Because it's pretty bloody comedic.

Well clearly anything I say is just lost on you so I've simply given up.

While we're on the topic of "giving up" on things, how about giving up on life and reducing the console population a digit?

I'm a bit cranky
I would like to comment on one thing though. Although you may not care about mod support, you can't deny that it allows for multitudes more content than generally allowed on the official release. Many people, myself included but not necessarily on Oblivion, have had the lifespan of a game extended considerably thanks to mod support. Sure, there are probably more shit mods than good mods, but does that make it any worse than some of the paid for DLC from developers? I personally played every piece of Mass Effect 2 DLC, 75% was crap. At least with the community mods, I didn't need to pay to figure out what was good or not.

For that alone, mod support makes PC gaming objectively better simply for that kind of potential. Whether you care or not about modding or what your preference is, is irrelevant.

Well that's a bit extreme don't you think.

The fact that I was telling you to kill yourself because you like to play on consoles didn't give anything away? Christ, you really are oblivious. XD

Trust me, I figured none of this was serious the second you started comparing people to cattle.

Problem with it was it just wasn't funny.

I don't get why folks still think PC gaming is expensive, it's absolutely ridiculous. This is my current "gaming" PC's financial history (in Canadian dollars)

- In 2002 I got a 19" flat screen CRT monitor (The one I'm looking at now) for $75 from a university's upgrading sale.
- I bought an OEM copy of windows XP some where shortly thereafter for about $120
- in 2007 I put a system together a decent system (for the time) for $790 (Tower, mobo, AMD dual core 2.6 cpu, Nvidia graphics card with 256meg video ram, DVD burner, 2 gigs of RAM, 250 gig hard drive, mouse, keyboard),
- Summer 2008, Creative labs X-fi fatality soundcard for $120 (on board sound sucked), new Logitech game pad $20
- Summer 2010, ATI 5770 with 1 gig video ram for about $300, 500 gig Hard drive for $90, 4 gigs of ram for about $110 (can't quite remember that one)

This PC will run everything from 2010 backwards just as well as you like (2011 onwards it's starting to show it's age a bit with AAA titles) and through emulators it will run every CONSOLE and handheld game worth playing from the PSX backwards (don't get great frame rates on PS2 stuff) all at a price of $1625. Now that is a decent chunk of change, but that's over a period of 8 years! Someone who's more savvy than me probably could have done it cheaper. Let's not forget also that pc games themselves cost less than their console counterparts.

So all those yabbering about the cost of PC gaming can stick it up their nose, because that's not expensive at all.

If your main issue is graphics and modding and you have no problems with the cost then PC is obviously the way to go, but I wouldn't call it as cut and dry as a lot of posters are making out. Even making only the upgrades you need to to keep up, PC gamers are going to spend around twice as much as console gamers. That's fine for some, but for many it's impossible. At the beginning of a console generation you can spend around £250 and be fine for any game released in the next 6 years. They won't look quite as pretty, but is that honestly such a big deal? The most important factor should be the games available for it, and on that front I think (though you may disagree) that consoles have the edge (I'm not including indie games in that as they can be played on any basic PC).

Just a side point, the controls thing is entirely subjective. The mouse may be more precise, but that doesn't make it fun to use, and keyboards just annoy me- I prefer console controllers for anything which isn't an RTS. Others may think differently, but that doesn't make either of us wrong.
You can put together a pretty good gaming computer on a budget, particularly if you factor in the fact that a PC is not a dedicated media device. Sure, when I purchased my computer this year it was on sale for $500. I then put a $150 video card in it that was on sale for $89 bucks (yay amazon) so you can argue that the initial investment was almost six hundred dollars. (which for the record was the price of the 80GB PS3 at launch, and the PS4 is likely to cost a lot more.) but I can also do things with it, like use it for work. Until the X-box gets Excel and Office support, I can't do similar things with it.

In addition, while a PC may require upgrades over the years, so do consoles, not to mention peripheral costs. As example, if you have been playing on Xbox live all these years, that is hundreds of dollars right there. Accessories, like wireless capabilities and hard drives are also far more expensive then on consoles, and you get far more bang for your buck then you do on a PC. Right now I could stick another TB in my machine for less then what console manufacturers want for half that space, and I don't have to worry that using an off brand will get my PC banned from the internet.

Playing on PC also gives you a pretty hefty discount on games. Compare prices on Steam to XBL or PSN. Even if you only buy one new game every two months, you are saving $90 a year on the PC, thanks to pre order discounts.

Factoring all that in, it is far less expensive for me to keep the computer I use for work up to gaming specs then it is for me to maintain both a PC and a console.

I just switched to PC gaming and I can tell why people say its the master race, Better graphics, better controls, and more games. All around better imo.
Well if better graphics make a better game, then it's time for me to jump off a bridge.

As for controls....controls shouldn't make a game. If a game depends on the slightly higher accuracy you get with a mouse, something is wrong. If you are not happy unless you can get 50 consecutive headshots, something is wrong.

Games shouldn't be about platforms. Games should be about the experiences they create (which is why I think it's a shame when any game is withheld from any platform (within reason of course)). So arguing "P.C. is better than Consoles" or vice-versa is pointless. It's arguing over who has the shiniest toy in the playground. It shouldn't be about graphics or controls, it should be about the meaningful experience that can be offered through games.

There, that's my say. Now, sit back and let incredibly insecure people abuse me for daring to have different opinions.
Hey I was just saying my opinion, I came from console gaming and I just think PC is all around better. I'm not saying everyone should think that, people get so pissy when people talk about these kinds of things. Which I must admit you were being pretty pissy with me but whatever its all good.
