Yeah pretty much, threads that are either stating something that almost everyone will agree on and hoping to find that one argumentative person or stating something that is controversial just for the sake of an argument. There is a lot of middle ground between those that should be used.

agreed. I hate those threads. do people really think that people will read their post and go "oh my god that person is incredible I must hunt them down and fellate them this instance, I also have a yellow coloured rubber bath duck!"

also the general trolling threads where people just want to try and prove their linguistic superiority over everyone else.

Well, your extensive first-hand experience is a key factor in your spotting paranoia and defensiveness so quickly. (Whether it's there or not.)

Me, I'm sick of "Is [x] Overrated?" or "Most Overrated [y]" threads. They just turn into pissy slanging matches, and besides I think it's more valuable to look at what was done *right* than wrong.
