"Green team has a commander and a lieutenant, like us. They're a weird bunch. Usually get assigned to get information on Pokemon. Rumor has it that the boss wants to know more about what make the little buggers tick."

...and Daren is a stuck up prick who's never felt the touch of a woman.

Hearing Scott complain made him scowl.

"We've got plenty of night left and be thankful for it. When we tackle the town, we'll be getting everyone in bed."

Max had been in Lavander once before. Quaint as fuck. Should be easy but if the word on the street was right, it was only one trainer who beat Green team...

"March! Hurry!"

* * * * * * * * * *

Wex struggled, slipping on a rock. Swearing, he picked himself up, lest he fall behind Caid.

"Wait up... What was your name?"

Behind us is Scott and I don't want to deal with that asshole right now.

Caid continued to walk carefully on the rough terrain, snickering to herself as she watched Wex keep stumbling everywhere.

"Th' name's Caid. Yers?"

She extended one of her greasy hands -the one that wasn't in her pocket- and grinned at him, no quite attempting to intimidate him, but also not too friendly. Also behind them, Sandy gave a quick look at Wex, almost of jealousy before breathing a sigh of relief and a silent prayer that he might be free soon.

Wex grabbed the hand firmly, pulling himself up from yet another fall.

"Thanks. I'm Wex."

God, she smells bad. No wonder she walks alone... Not counting Brian of course. Poor guy. Looks as if she's been forcing him to tag along everywhere.

He was about to start talking about biking when Max shouted.

* * * * * * * *

Lavander! The lights were on dimly in the dark but he could make out the town. They all stopped and looked to Alex who yawned.

"Max, you know what to do."

Oh, so this is all on me huh?

Max issued rapid orders. Three groups of five grunts moved quickly, cutting off the roads to the North, West and South. The rest of the force walked forward quietly.

"Pick and take a house. Remove any Pokemon from the equation. Force the residents to assemble at the Pokemart. I need people to come with me to the Pokemon center. That's where they are holding Green team and we can force the nurses to keep us in action. Move!"

Thank god this town is tiny.

Grunts burst into houses easily enough. The sleeping residents putting up no fight. One couple, up late for some fun was interrupted by Boris. The man had tried to fight him. He now lay unconscious, naked in the pale eerie streets after being thrown out of his second story window. A few had tried to get out to the South but they were caught by the blocking detachments.

"Where's Mr. Fuji?"

"Mommy? Where's mommy!?!"

"Rockets? More Rockets?"

Finally Max was satisfied that all of them had been rounded up. The only buildings not searched was the massive tower, which they surrounded with some grunts quickly enough and the Pokemon center. Alex started making a grand speech about Giovanni and the dawn of a new age to them while Boris snuck away with a scantily clad girl of eighteen.

"Fucking hell Alex, let's rescue Green already."

"You go be the big hero." he had a twisted grin on his face. Max felt uneasy.

"You're the commander, you should-"

"I don't have to do anything. You're my tool. Tools serve their purpose." he said, with a chilling look and gentle voice. His bat was still at his right side while his left arm lay cradled in the makeshift splint.

"Yes sir." said Max. He picked out Ellie, Caid, Dylan and Leels as his support. The rest were busy corralling the town residents into the Pokemart, forcing them. Alex hit a few brave heroes with his bat, scaring the others witless.

Max rushed through the door and the sound of Pokeballs exploding open made him freeze. Already his Nidorino was charging in at the trainers. They had weird yellow Pokemon but there was no time to think.

"Take them out!"

One trainer my ass.

Mayu happily did her part in rounding up as many people as she could to the Pokemart. Once the residents were gathered, she placed herself on guard duty, watching the civilians with her Vulpix by her side. Every now and then someone would try to make sense of what she was doing with Team Rocket, but she mostly ignored them. As she patrolled the outer ring of people, she said to herself. "This town is tiny. I wonder if there's anything worth keeping here."

Nidorina ran under Max, her horns too dull to cut him as she bumped against his legs. It was a different story as she barreled into the chest of one of the yellow pokemon, quickly jumping back to avoid the jolts of electricity that cracked through the air. She hissed and growled a threat as it roared and ran at her.

Ellie squeezed into the Pokemon Center before releasing her Ponyta. A quick shock from a nearby pokemon made her turn and ram into it, firing her up, so to speak. She glanced around, taking a quick count of the trainers present, and where the Green members were.

Everyone was running around doing random stuff. Then Max picked out his group of favorite grunts to help him take the Pokemon center. The three woman and Dylan.

"That hard-ass is pussy whipped and doesn't even know it, probably would have taken Mayu too if she was just a bit older the sick bastard. Never thought a guy with a pickle so far up his ass would be that affected by woman." Scott snickered to himself before roaming around teh immediate area.

Noise upstairs. It didn't sound cordial either. Addison Stanwick smiled for the first time since a couple of beaten green grunts, miraculously evading capture initially, burst into her laboratory.

She, along with a few other green members, had been working the sideproject of setting up a druglab in the basement of an old run down building near the outskirts of town. She and her fellows had working on that with the aim of setting up a bit of cashflow in the area while the rest had been at work on the tower project. They wouldn't even have been caught if not for the damn fools leading their pursuers right to the lab.

Of course, the noise above might not be Rockets, but damned if she was going to let that ruin her optimism. Flashing the incompetents that got the druglab group busted a malicious smile that clearly said "See if I help you next time you need medical attention.", she turned her gaze towards the stairs leading to upstairs in anticipation, waiting for what was hopefully going to be a rescue party.

If everything went smoothly, they'd be out of their restraints soon, be able to recover their possessions from upstairs, assuming their effects and pokemon had been stashed somewhere on the premises. Probably in a storage locker of some description given that Pokemon Centres weren't usually built with evidence lockers.

Caid grinned at the sight of the Electabuzz and Pikachu that greeted the team when they got in. She had just the Pokemon to combat them. She threw out her Magnemite and ordered it to just use it's hard body to slam into the electric beasts whenever it could, and absorb whatever electricity it could when they'd shock it. While her Magnemite had them busy, she let out her Koffing for a surprise sludge attack to whatever ones weren't paying attention.

Sandy, meanwhile, let out a Geodude and did what he could with that.

"Time to work..." Dylan let out his grimer to see what damage he could deal to the opponent. "That is a lot of electric pokemon." He said, as a pikachu went up to him, all ready to attack. "Grimer, pound that pikachu!" His grimer attacked, but the yellow rat was able to dodge them easily. poisoned due to the hit.
"tch... use sludge!" Finally, his grimer was able to land a blow on the pikachu, which became poisoned.
"How about we just gas these people?" asked dylan, while searching for gas masks in his backpack.

"I'd rather have the Pokemon center available for our use after the fight." said Max, watching his Nidorino flip over an Electabuzz. It however seemed to get shocked and slowed down dramatically.

"Nidorino, come on! Get to it!"

Bolts of electricity kept flying at all the Rocket Pokemon, the trainers cheering their Pokemon on. They were all dressed in a yellow safety jackets.

Ava was sitting on the floor of the basement, huddled up near the wall, clutching her knees to her chest. She didn't say a word since green team was busted, not that she was a talkative person to begin with.

Her mind still tried to fathom how one old guy could defeat the entire team.

Her gaze turned to the ceiling as she could hear the battle that had erupted above. Voices giving orders to pokemon rang out among the sharp cracks from the various bolts of electricity.

Ava looked down to the ground and blew a few errant strands of hair out of her good eye. She was sure that the battle above was due to the arrival of a Rocket rescue party. Despite the verbal lashing she and the rest of the team was sure to get for their failure, at least it would be refreshing to finally be free again.

Caid's Magnemite was doing quite well for being her least used pokemon. It's metal body was doing a good job absorbing the shocks that it was receiving from the Pikachu and Electabuzz it was bashing itself into. Eventually, it started sending shocks of its own out, extra powered a bit by the stored energy. The smog from her Koffing was starting to take its toll on one of the Pikachu, it coughing hard between squeaks of fighting spirit.

But the true warrior of all of this was Sandy's Geodude, the flying boulder making short work of the 'Chus it was fighting, turning the tide of the fight.

Leela ran in, Machoke at her side. The place was filled with pokemon and yellow jacketed trainers with electric pokemon.

Well, that's certainly original coloring, isn't it?

One of the Pikachus began charging and let loose a bolt of electricity, barely missing the Fighting type as she pivoted right before it was released. Leela wasn't so lucky, as her entire left side went into spasms, causing her to trip and fall into one of the tables. While she lay there, Machoke barreled into one of the larger Electric types, Buzzer or something, if her memory was right.

The Electabuzz was lifted off its feet and rammed into the wall directly behind it, leaving it stuck there when the muscle-bound pokemon stepped back. It fell out a few heartbeats later, when Leela was regaining the use of her muscles, her leg no longer too weak to stand on. Her arm was another matter though, it continued to shake a bit, and Leela's finger still weren't able to be closed into a fist.

"Ma-m-m-Machoke, Seismic Toss next."

The Machoke struck out at a nearby Pikachu, who deftly sped out of the way of the larger Pokemon's attack and let loose another charged bolt, throwing her back.

"Sir, we've got company. Some trainers from the North are giving us trouble." reported a grunt after running to the Pokemart. The store was packed full of residents and had been padlocked shut with a chain.

"Look at them, trapped like the rats they are!" said Alex, wiping the blood off his bat casually. Wex could see the insane glee on his face. He had been beating some of the younger men who had been stupid enough to accept his offer to fight him if they wanted to be free.

"Sir, the North..."

He gestured at all the grunts laying about in the street.

"Anyone not watching the tower, the center or the mart go north. And keep an eye on the other roads."

So he does have a brain...

Wex marched up with the others, unfortunately falling beside Scott.

At least the Commander is behind me. I have four, he has one. I have four, he has one...

* * * * *

Max winced as his two flying types fell easily. His Nidorino had taken out one of the damn striped Pokemon but it was clearly flagging. Seeing Brian's Geodude relentlessly rolling up the trainers on the right, he barked an order.

"Caid, Brian! Push them towards that wall! Leels and the others, keep them from getting towards the counter!"

He made a dash, jumping over a weakened but very angry Pikachu. He made it to the desk, vaulting over. He groaned in pain on the landing, still battered from the assault earlier in the day.

Thanks Ridner. I'll repay you double one day.

A nurse was cowering behind the counter. The blockheads fighting them never considered this.

That's why they put me in charge. That's why I'll fuck all of them over in the end.

"D-d-don't hurt me!"

"Give me potions, now!" he snarled, leering at her menacingly. Meekly she opened a drawer and revealed a massive stash of valuable Max Potions. Snatching them out, Max poked up from behind the counter.

"Catch guys!"

He threw a few potions to Caid and Ellie and one landed near Leels as well. He was about to throw another one when a burly safety vest wearing worker hurled himself ontop of him.

"No fucking way! I'm not losing to some no good, lousy-"

The punch shattered the man's jaw. He fell back, stunned and Max cried out for his Pokemon. Nidorino was there instantly although a lot worse for wear. It jabbed the guy in the leg and the nurse screamed. She fainted as Max applied some goop on his Pokemon to deal with the shocks. After restoring him, he vaulted the counter again, pleased to see that most of the trainers were surrendering.

"That's how we fucking do it."

The Max potion clattered across Ellie's feet. She threw one of the trainers who was trying to grab for it to the side, snatching them up and spraying them over her pokemon. She smirked at the dismayed trainer opposite to her, who had been hoping to faint her Ponyta and Nidorina with a few more shocks.

"H-hey! That's not fair!"
"You should have brought some potions."

Her Nidorina charged at the Pikachu, poisoning it. Her Ponyta followed soon after, stomping the small mouse into the ground.

"Are you going to surrender or make this hard for the both of us?" Ellie threatened, showing off her brass knuckles. The girl was quickly huddled and sobbing something about "don't hit me". Weak.

She started opening a few doors, trying to find where their objectives were.

The Max Potion rolled by Leela, hitting her foot and stopping, unfortunately, the arm she wasn't on top of was the one still not under her control. She stood up and grabbed said potion as Machoke stood up. There remained only one of the striped Buzzer Pokemon and that was her next opponent.

Leaping forward, Machoke let out a single punch, launching the pokemon across the room, hitting the ground and flipping twice, but at the cost of a portion of the pokemon's electrical power to go through the Fighting type. Her body spasmed a few minutes on the ground, before she stood up shakily. Marching forward to finish up with the Electric type, the other one already having regained its footing. It opened its mouth and a line of electricity shot forth, striking Machoke and leaving a small burn mark on her chest. Still she strode forth and kicked out with one of her feet, unfortunately it spasmed at the last second before connecting and did substantially less damage than it would've otherwise.

The Electabuzz did the same attack again, though with less effect than the first had, as Machoke was able to turn, with it only grazing her back as it continued onwards into a picture frame on the wall, exploding, sending glass shards everywhere, but somehow leaving the picture inside intact. Machoke got within striking distance and delivered a quick Karate Chop to its neck, dropping it instantly as well as launching it a small distance over the PokeCenter's front desk.

Leela ran/hobbled/stumbled over to her pokemon, Max Potion in hand, and sprayed it on the one direct hit she'd taken, the wound lessening the intensity of the burn, followed by the second one grazing her back, which disappeared completely, the rest she simply sprayed over the rest of her pokemon's body, bruises and small cuts closing up and changing back to what they were supposed to be.

So ingrained in her spraying that she hadn't noticed a stream of blood flowing from her upper cheek to her ear from one of the glass shards. Reaching up to find out what had made her face so wet, she looked at it distastefully before tossing the empty Max Potion aside and walking over to the Electabuzz sprawled across the counter. She appeased herself by kicking it once and scoffing.

"Dammit, now I'm going to have to cover that up..."She pouted a few moments before walking over to one of the electricians holding some part of their body tenderly and ripped off a piece of their clothing, which she used to wipe away the blood and hold against the cut, stemming the flow within a few minutes.

"Remember to always support your local Rockets,"She said, then whispering under her breath,"assholes."

"Fuck." was the only thing Wex could see when they came up to the cliffs on the north side of the town. Rattatas lay fallen on the road, Zubats swinging around to try and get bites in on the two rolling Geodudes the Hikers were using.

I have to fight these things. Nice planning Alex.

His Rattatas exploded out, running towards the rock hard Pokemon. They were brave but that wouldn't help them. He saw Scott's cat thing running ahead to another one and that little girl was giggling too. The grunts were rushing their Pokemon forward.

It was silly. The whole situation absurd. Wex watched helplessly as one of the Geodudes pounded a Rattata he owned into the hard ground, flipping it away as it fainted. The other one was rolling into Scott's cat and then grabbed a Zubat, crushing it in its grip before tossing it away.

"Come on! We can do this all night!" roared one of the drunk giants, waving and hooting at the fight. They were massive men and they had two more balls a piece. Waves of Rattatas rushed forward, with two more of Wex's among them.

Why don't we get Pokemon like that...

* * * * * *

The Silver grunt wheezed and gasped faintly as Giovanni strangled him.

"When I assigned you to watch the gym, I told you to have it under 24 hour surveillance. How could Blaine just leave without you knowing?"

The grunt flailed uselessly against him, gaping and fighting for air. He finally dropped him.

"Strip down and take off that uniform. You'll report to Red team as a normal grunt with normal Pokemon. Take his Pokemon." Giovanni gestured at another Silver team grunt. They proceeded to add to the beating.

Idiots, I'm surrounded by idiots.

It was curious. The grunts he had in the patrolling the air around Cinnibar had seen nothing. Blaine was a very powerful gym leader and one that Giovanni kept a close eye on. For him to up and vanish...

"Ridner is back sir." said Petrel, walking into the office.

"Good."

The enforcer walked in confidently.

"And?"

"Broke Alex's arm, beat the shit out his ***** of a lieutenant. The man was drunk so it wasn't as fun as I had hoped. Sprayed the rest and let them understand how unhappy you were."

"Good. I need you to go to Cinnibar and make my men there a little more eager to finish."

"Sir." he said, turning and leaving. He appreciated efficiency.

"The Anchorheads took out another shipment of Pokemon." muttered Petrel when Ridner had stepped out.

"They need to be dealt with. First I must focus on Saffron. Has Red...?"

"More influence with Silph has been muscled out of the stockholders there." said Proton, leaning against the wall in the corner. He had that grin of his.

"Are they still alive?" glowered Giovanni, staring into the man's eyes. He was a psychotic son of a ***** but he kept the grunts going. Fear always was useful but he constantly needed to be restrained.

"...yes."

"Then that's fine. You know what to do."

A grunt brought in a briefcase. More Zubat messages. It was infuriating but necessary. He had the pile deposited on his desk and he stopped to sip his glass of brandy. It would have to wait, he needed to depart for a secret meeting.

It'll be worth it...

He stood up, raising a hand to stop his bodyguards.

"Where I'm going I don't need Rockets."

Mayu grimaced a little bit when she saw the two Geodudes making a mess of things. She knew that her fire type wouldn't be effective against them but at the very least she could help do some damage. Looking to her Vulpix, she said while holding her Koffing's Pokeball. "We can attack freely here. Go and give those dumb rocks a good burn!" Vulpix called out happily before moving into the battle and attacking with numerous ember attacks.

Mayu knew that her Vulpix wouldn't be able to hold them off on her own, so she threw Koffing's Pokeball and said. "Go and help Vulpix! Do whatever you can to work together!" Koffing nodded and joined the battle, releasing Sludge attacks on the Geodudes.

Scott watched as his only Pokemon was getting pummeled by the rolling Geodude.

"Meowth dodge! Use you're speed, Geodudes are slow, you're far faster than that piece of compressed mud. Be patient wait for the right moment, dodge then strike. Your attacks aren't going to do much so you have to save your energy! Use screech now to lower it's defence!"

Scott's Meowth snapped to attention, seemingly regaining it's vigor. Meowth let out a loud screech at the Geodude. The enemy Geodude stopped in it's tracks for a moment, then continued to attack. Scott's Meowth stood it's ground until the last moment and quickly evaded it's opponent and performed a Scratch. The attack wasn't very effective but Meowth was clearly winning now. Scott's Pokemon continued using this tactic on the Geodude. Alternating between Scratch and Bite. Scott noticed that Meowth's Bite attacks were slightly more effective.

"I don't know why but your Bite attack seems to be doing more damage. Use that more, and use Payday, we might be able to distract some of these drunk assholes!"

The Meowth listened to it's master's orders and continued to Bite the Geodude. Then it used Payday scattering gold medallions at the Hiker's feet before taking it's place next to Mayu's Vulpix ready to finish off the enemy Geodude.
