Pure awesome.
I really miss the art style of the late 80ies and 90ies Anime. Bubblegum Crisis, Venus Wars, Big Wars, Lilly Cat, Wind of Amnesia, Wings of Honneamise, Crest of the Stars, Cowboy Bebop. Great times watching SF anime.
Too bad most Animes these days suck?

Hey Disney hire that guy and make it happen!

Empire FTW!

Assuming as witnessed by their prowess in the video, ace pilots tend to get a lot of leeway.
Eh, true, but leeway has limits; even Fel only had a short ponytail, and he was supposedly the best fighter pilot in the Empire. These two couldn't even fit their helmets over their hair without cartoon magic.

Which is kind of important, given that TIEs don't have life support and all.

I really want this to be a thing. It was really, really good and I really loved the art style used.

Also, nice to see the empire win for a change. I mean they are supposed to be this galactic superpower after all.

This... this is like someone incarnating some of the best things about my childhood into a single distilled video of awesome. I love it, and I love that it was done by a single person.

I like how the author put faces to usually faceless Imperial pilots, who are usually left faceless due to their helmets, as opposed to the rebel pilots who have open-faced helmets. I like how the whole thing is consistent with the expanded universe, for instance when the Rebels attempt a bombing run at the Interdictor-class ship, a specialist vessel that serves to disrupt hyperspace jumps in the immediate area. The whole video is very much in line with the Tie Fighter video game and it's just beautiful.

According to the description, it was meant to be based on old 80's anime, which would probably explain things like the music choice, art style, and the like. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the music choice either, but if that's what would have fit, then that's what fits!
It seems to call a lot on the character design and animation styles of: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam: 0080 War in the Pocket, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Gundam F91, and Char's Counter Attack, but the animation flows mostly Like Gundam Unicorn.
