Anyways, I vote for banning thew word "censorship", because people get the word wrong so often, and because its delicious irony to do so.
The Irony is pretty funny. But as a side note, given how we keep marching to a more digital age, maybe we do have to redefine 'censorship'. And not just due to the whole GG thing. But that's a WHOLE another topic.

Personally I would have loved to see more 'leet' speak words on the chopping block so to say.

Wow, I just rolled my Eyes so hard that I thought that they were going to stick like that.

Disappointed, but not surprised.

I love how everyone thinks that 4chan is this single hive-mind of neckbeards, and yet if you pop over to the other thread, they get angry that people have these horrible stereotypes about gamers.

I also like that 4chan shoves "feminist" into a banned words section for what is clearly 4chan humour, and everyone (well, mostly everyone here) just goes "Hurr durr neckbeards stupid mysogonists! They're so stupid!"

The Escapist:
Where everyone except you is wrong, sexist, racist and a Gamergater until you get rid of that nasty case of "being able to have a laugh".

I would ask that everyone go onto 4chan for half an hour. Go to /b/, go to /pol/, go to /adv/. Try to have a conversation. You know what you'll find? 100 different opinions. Now come back here. Now what you'll find? 2 different opinions, and then everyone attacking you for having a different opinion than one of the popular Escapist kids.

I'll be honest, given the current string of outraged "Twitter feminists" trying to get every man under the sun fired from work for any little incursion, I'm not really surprised. I've been saying for a while now that these lazy reactionaries will end up doing far more harm to feminism than good.

People on here will probably know by now that I'm anti-gg, and that I self identify as a feminist. Or I did... because the word covers such a broad area, and can be adopted by people with such broad views, that the word itself is pretty much pointless. It currently works around as "someone with an opinion about women" at this stage. I'd see it banned in favour of a new word

Well duh, if the label "feminist" is that tarnished in the eyes of the public, perhaps you should just, like, abandon the titel altogether and start with a new one, right? *snark* *snark*

Oh for the love of ... The results of that poll are fucking depressing.

Incidentally, can we remove the suffix '-izzle' from things please? That damn noise is only used a) by rappers who are too lazy to rhyme words properly or b) by white people who want to make everyone within earshot cringe.

The world could always use more Egalitarians. They're not nearly as reactionary and the title/ideology is completely gender unbiased.

I'm speechless. I'm not surprised that feminist is being vote-bombed into oblivion but 50%...

I'm impressed by how decisively it is winning but I'm also very disappointed.

It pretty much pointless. Even if the word did get banned, "feminist" will still exist or rather if they really want to get around it, they will invent a new word to replace feminist.

I think I largely am, although I believe in societal structure, and that parents should be responsible for children (as opposed to equals). I was under the impression that wasn't allowed?

"What a great idea for a poll" said no one ever.

Even if they "ban" a word, it won't become some kind of law punishable by arrest. If anything it'll make people use them more.

Sorrynotsorry.

I was under the impression that parents were generally considered as responsible for their children until they're old enough to be considered adults by law. Either way, that's certainly what I believe. My parents spoke to me as an equal since I was old enough to tell them I never believed in Santa anyway and I'm grateful that they didn't baby me like I see some parents do with their kids/teenagers.

Did Time run out of shit to do or something? And they've done it 3 times before hand. Geez. Are these guys a tabloid or a genuine news site?

It is pretty funny though.

I just voted for "disrupt".
What a horrible cliché word!

I'll admit my ignorance I never even heard about some of the words on the list.

To be on topic: Internet polls can be spammed easily.
I'm strictly neutral towards political stuff so I can't say anything about it.

Fair enough, I'd never baby my kids (except for the baby because, well, you know).

Hm, a group of feminists and some gaming websites declare gamers to be "dead", some gamers flip out.

A popular magazine is looking to make the word 'feminist' "dead", some feminists flip out.

There is no container large enough to hold the amount of popcorn I wish to have while watching this go on...

If they wanted to troll their readers with a poll, they really should have added some more options. I nominate all indefinite articles for inclusion on this list. And the definite articles. And the word "and."
