We all get those philosophical moments, where we'll sit in a thinking position and try to figure out life's deepest mysteries. Like time, for example. Is it a simple term made up by humans, or does it have some definition beyond clocks and measurements? What do you think? For me, time is the separation of all events in the universe. A moment of time is when something starts or ends. Two prolonged happenings can happen at the same time, but they can't begin or end at the exact same moment, as can be seen by taking the smallest measurements of time and seeing how small and precise time really is. So, in theory, if nothing happens in the universe for a moment, would that mean that time stops? So, in short, time is what stops everything from happening at the same time.

Now post your thoughts.

Time is a unit of measurement made up by humans. The thing itself is hard to define without actually using the word "time".

There is no time. It's made up by humans to measure ...ehmm.. happenings. Your definition doesn't answer what is time, it just means the same thing as ''simple term made up by humans''.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect but actually, from a nonlinear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... Timey wimey... Stuff.

It's like a unit of measurement for the progression of everything, I guess.
That's the best I can do.

Time is irrelevant, irreversible, impossible to fully understand and shifts beyond the boarders of the known universe

Like me!

quote more Dr.Who and we shall all love you eternally =D (I will anyway)

Time is, like all human creations, untrue, look at say, midday and midnight, they don't know what time they are, they just are, what is time to the timeless?
"Humans think time is important, because they created it"

Time is made up by humans so we know if it's late early or something like that better than use paint as clock than it's dry it's 00.00 :p

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

BREATHE REPRISE
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It?s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Okay that's pink floyds take on it but one I heartily endorse.
