Just saying. Expect failure. But don't EVER let her know that - that tends to kill relationships.

Insubstantial, three month long relationships.

Take your time dude. find out some shit about her first. I mean dating strangers, outside of alcahol fueled situations, always end in tears
Oh. I just figured he'd have already done all the stalker things like finding out her favourite food and stuff.

*looks shifty*

I haven't taken someone to their favourite food outlet deliberately before! Honest!

Right, sorry to bring my own problems into this thread, nothing egotistical or anything, but I kind of have a similar problem to the OP. That is, I really want to ask out this girl who lives in the flat 4 floors below me, and we already get on well as friends. However, I'm kind of stuck, because as I say, I want to ask her out, but I'm really worried that she just wants to stay friends. Various people here and in the real world (i.e. real world friends, not internet friends) have said I should just go for it, but I honestly don't know what to do. As I say, sorry to potentially upstage the OP, but can anyone help me out here?

*sigh* People claim most people online are guys but theres a definate lack of testicles around here.
First off, no one can answer that because each girl is different. Secondly, this is a gaming forum. I can't remember the exact number from the latest poll but like 75%+ people here are virgins or never even kissed a girl. Thirdly... I can't even be bothered going on...

Pro tip. Go up to a girl you just saw and say "Hey, nice shoes, wanna fuck?" You either get laid, she thinks its funny and at least becomes your friend, or she storms off and you have lost nothing.
Is that statistic real? Given that the majority of Escapians are over 18, having never kissed a girl is an embarrassing fact for them to say the least.

There's a decided difference between being a chauvinistic pig and being a man. It takes a real man to be willing to wait until the woman feels comfortable with you to even suggest such a thing.

I have kissed a woman. I am a virgin. I'm proud to say that I've never had a relationship end so horribly that I never speak to the woman again.

Pro Tip: Be a gentleman. Don't be a wuss, but don't be an ass. Hold the door for them. Pull the chair out for them. Compliment them on something other than their physical appearance.

@topic

Standard response:

WHY ASK THE INTARWEBZ

Secondary response:

When you're good and ready. Make the time and place appropriate. Word it so that the girl doesn't feel pressure.

And use the goddamn search button. I'm sick of these relationship threads.

As a man who has both kissed and had sex with a girl, I can assure you that walking up to somebody and saying "nice shoes, wanna fuck" will never work. At best, she will think you are joking and laugh at it. At worst, you will earn a well-deserved reputation as a complete creep.

Since the OP is pretty clearly in high school there is no correct answer; high school relationships are not governed by anything resembling logic. In the real world, the "correct" time frame depends on both people, but sooner rather than later is a good general rule. Once you have an established relationship as friends, you are much, much better off moving on to someone else.

Google search=infinite fountain of knowledge, escapist=infinite fountain of horribly named atheists and geeks who have 4 gb speedz(the holy grail of connection speedz) and peepz like me who give shitty dating advice (truth or dare thing will get you laughed at noobz;)
I'm not horribly named. I'm a devout Christian. I've got a 2.5 gigabyte connection.

You should stop generalizing.

Let me fix something for you, by the way. Google=infinite fountain of knowledge and porn, Escapist=not so infinite cesspool of the outcasts of the Internet.

Truth or Dare will only get you laughed at if you express any sort of distaste or interest in anything they tell you to do. It's the ultimate pokerface game.

Just freaking ask her. OP and Trivium. Go up to her, tell her you'd like to either take her out, or spend some time with her. If you get some time alone, you could do what I did: Kiss first, ask questions later. Worked for me, it's bound to work for somebody else.

Also, just be confident. It's not the end of the world if she says no. No relationship is a waste if you had a good time while you were in it.

A party situation is a good idea, although be a good idea to try and kiss her before you start opening your heart and telling her you watch her across the lunch hall. If it doesnt happen, that sucks, but if its gonna be on your mind all the time its best to get it out of the way. On a personal note, Trivun, I got you beat on living-in-close-proximity-to-girls-you-like. Im currently living with 4 friends and girl who we applied to an ad cause we had a spare room. Shes damn hot, one day about 3 months in just decided to go for it at a party. Made out, but she decided to go out with another guy and then we had several weeks of akward conversation. Not cool.

sooner rather then later, if you're going to do it at all. I'm in a bit of a sticky pickle right now myself, but my advice will always be sooner rather then later, because having no balls to grab for what you want won't get you anywhere.
