It's moved on to a different company now. They'll do it wrong. Same thing happened with Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, etc. etc.

You realise Crytek UK is mainly made up of employees from Free Radical?

The company that also made such classics as HAZE and Second Sight...

Hmm, that does change things, but there is one problem. Will they take orders from the parent company, or just paychecks? If the parent company tries to influence the game, and they probably will, we'll see a very bad sequel to a great franchise.

We will know if they say: "We have chosen to take Timesplitters into a new direction".

Like what they are doing with the new Deus Ex game? It seriously looked great, but then the guy making it said "We want to focus more on the shooting aspect of the game." So, as far as I care, Deus Ex never had a sequel, and never will.

Besides, should we really just be asking for sequels to an old franchise instead of fresh ideas? Remember what SEGA was like during their Genesis days? They would always introduce new IPs. They created Ecco the Dolphin, Dynamite Headdy, Altered Beast, ToeJam and Earl, etc. instead of just making another 20 Sonic sequels. They just made more and more new ideas. I'm sad that no one does this anymore; they make one good game, and then whore it put as a franchise.

I don't trust Crytek and i don't like their games. I'm not going to sign it, but I'll sure pay attention to that game and buy it if it's good.

Hmm, I was under the impression Second Sight was a good game.

On an unrelated side note, I am downloading the Daikatana demo.

*facepalm* you can't petition something to force some to do something.

They usually work, due to demand, but a lot of the time I just like to sign with a really stupid name so as to discredit the whole thing. I didn't do that here, but when people were were boycotting L4D2, I went to town on the petition.

I have to say, I enjoyed the living hell out of TS 2 and 3, but I don't really see where else they could go with it. I mean, TS3's ending seemed pretty final...

Timesplitters was fun.
Timesplitters 2 was even better.
Future Perfect was easier, but amazing.

So yes, I'll sign. I've got nothing to lose.

Each time, someone other than the original developer tries to make a game, and it's just done so poorly.

This was exactly the revelation I was looking for, that was in fact the first thing I thought about when I heard about the take over... "Sweet, do I see a new Time Splitters in the future?"

This shooter was so under appreciated, it's amazingly imagined and incredibly stupid making it stupid awesome.

What other game can you have a dancing dinosaur chasing a ninja monkey or a sock puppet? NONE is the correct answer. Get your lazy ass over to that petition and sign so we can see more Cortex kicking ass.
