Are you tired of being the weird person that no one will talk to? Tell your tale and/or thoughts:
I was born with naturally red eyes (genetic defect) yet my right is darker than my left (which is also my worst eye). All my life I have been called a "witch", a "demon", and "the daughter of Satan" by people who saw my eyes. My parents were banned from their church because of this, and they've never forgiven me for it.
This changed (somewhat) in 2004 when I had to get corrective lenses for my left eye which was becoming worse, and contacts were my only option. I wanted to get a different colored iris to hide my left eye so my optometrist decided to make it green since green is the pposite of red on the color spectrum. So I ended up looking like Suiseiseki prior to Rozen Maiden. This was not a problem until I enter high school 3 years ago, and by then a few had seen RM. So then I became the laughing stock of my school.
Now they call me a "nerd" and a cosplayer" and that I dyed my hair brown (which I didn't). My reputation is so trashed at school that no one will talk to me except for my boyfriend will talk to me. I have to keep Clorox wipes in my locker because someone writes "Desu" all over my locker every day. It gets even worse when I get home, where my parents want nothing to do with me.
*shrug* The things I got teased about in school were my last name (Mann) and the fact that I'm a girl who has little to no interest in being 'girly' and was mostly a loner and very quiet. Add that I enjoyed video games and drawing, I got into quite a few fights since all the teachers and principal did were tell the boys not to make fun of me. I'm not much of a talker, but would warn someone if they were going too far. They never listened and never learned when to shut up, always baffled when I'd punch them or some such action.
Never once did they call in the parents of those kids or even attempt to do something about it.
The only decent thing and Middle school was that I met my best friend there, who was also outcast for being an artist and gamer. He wasn't a jock, one of the 'smart' kids, or really fit into any one group of people. We're best friends to this day.
High school was better in ways, I was left alone for the most part with only one or two people who would bother me. The last two years were very easy, and the teasing dropped to zero. I was still acted as I always did.
At least when you can sustain yourself, you'll no longer have to do with the constant distance that your parents put you through. Outside of high school and into college, things usually get better with people. It's easier to avoid those you don't like.
Have you thought about getting brown lenses? Or blue? Something with a darker color could help, even with one eye being darker than the other. Some people naturally have one eye brighter/darker than the other anyway, so it might attract less attention. A passing glance they might not notice right away.
