Not that I dislike combat focused games, but the relentless onslaught of FPS and gun based gameplay in E3 so far has just drained me from the mood to play anything violent. I need something happy and pacifistic for a change. Any suggestions? What do you guys usually turn to when you deal with this kind of burnout?

I play Ace Attorney when I want to get out of any funk about killing things. Not only do you not kill anyone in those games, its your objective to punish those that do.

Personally, I am not necessarily tired of killing, but I am definitely tired of killing zombies. Zombies are so overdone and so boring.

Viva Pinata is awesome.

Bit Trip Runner 2? It's a platformer. It's got boss battles but most of the game is basically fast paced-platforming, while avoiding obstacles to a catchy background tune. It's a surprisingly calming game and I really liked it.
Also, I've never played it but from what I've heard Fez is basically puzzle solving and platforming w/o combat.

Besides those you could always just look for puzzle games/simulators (Sims, anyone?) in general.

Sick of something in E3? I'm sick of sports games. 70% of EA's conference was sports games, and I don't think the demographic for sports games is the same as the audience for E3. Maybe just be me. Seems like EA and Sony are stalling for time.

Platformers for me. The last time I got fed up with murdering skeletons and Undead, I turned to Mario Galaxy and Sonic Unleashed/Generations. Ahh, how the speed and platforming goodiness exists...

Also, I seem to have an aquired taste for Touhou, as I go into a Zen-like state playing the games, even though they're hard as nails. But that's just me.

Little Big Planet is great when I'm worn out on combat, or really any kind of puzzle platformer. Usually I'll get a friend over or I'll go to a friends house, and we'll play some Mario or Kirby or something.
