Titanfall 2 Releases Worldwide This October

Titanfall 2 will release on PS4, Xbox One, and Origin for PC worldwide on October 28.

On the heels of Titanfall 2's teaser trailer and leaked Collector's Edition information yesterday [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/167674-Titanfall-2-Collectors-Edition-Leaked-Gameplay-Teaser#&gid=gallery_6276&pid=1], EA kicked off its 2016 E3 press conference with Respawn, and confirmation that the game will release worldwide on October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Origin for PC. There are six new Titans for multiplayer play, more weapons, customization, and a "robust" progression system, with a technical test planned ahead of the game's launch. In addition, Titanfall 2 will include a single-player campaign - and you can check out the trailers for both single and multiplayer below.

"With the original Titanfall, we focused on nailing the gameplay and reinventing the way you move and fight in a first person shooter," said Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment and a Co-Creator of the Call of Duty franchise, in a press release. "With Titanfall 2, we're building on that foundation by introducing a bespoke single player campaign backed by a deeper multiplayer experience that together will once again push the shooter genre forward."

And just like that, barring some catastrophe before launch, this just became a day-1 purchase for me.

Yeah, yeah. I can hear it now... "Never buy day one!" "Pre-orders are the bane of gaming as we know it!" "EA is Beelzebub incarnate!" "Triple A games are garbage!" "Modern shooters are boring, grey-brown bland-athons!"

Don't care. Fuck you[footnote]And just to be clear, as I know someone will take offense: This isn't pointed at anyone in particular. It's just a general sentiment.[/footnote]. They had me at 'grappling hooks'.

The titan in singleplayer sounds kinda like the honest trailers guy. Maybe with ten or fifteen percent less ham, though.

Seems like a bad idea to release Titanfall 2 a week after Battlefield 1. Guess we'll see how that plays out.

I just hope they give us more to do this time.
I would like that.

I'd like a price cut and more mechanical depth a lot more. Titanfall was the equivalent of $100 in the UK on release, before DLC, that killed it right out the gate.

The mechanics of combat being overly shallow just beat the corpse even further. I really want Titanfall 2 to be great, running around in Titanfall was huge fun, shame about everything else.

They added quite a few new movement option to the multiplayer which seems really neat, but there are things that are bugging me.

1st. the gameplay seems slower than in the first game. I didn't play on console, only on my PC and wall running was quite a bit faster I believe. I know some console player complained that it's a bit too fast because aiming at higher speed is much harder with gamepads, but I don't like that.

2nd, some parts of the stage shown were too open. You're left running with nothing to do, no high mobility which I really loved in the first one. After Tribes: Ascend died, Titanfall to over for my fast fps fix. There was the one stage that was most open and it was the worst stage to play on. I hope the shown map is the exception and not the rule of the new stages.

All in all, single player is something I'm hyped for. The Borbot sounds like a cool chunk of metal.
Multiplayer still looks interesting, quite a few new weapons were shown and if they didn't remove the previous one, it's fantastic.
I'm not preordering or buying it day one since I still have to upgrade my PC to run anything now. But it's a game I'm certainly going to buy. Titanfall 2 seems like the perfect sequel to the first game. They took 1 and added a bunch of cool stuff to it and apparently didn't fuck up what made the original great. Now if EA just doesn't fuck it up, I would gladly give them my money. I will shit on them when they do something stupid but they should also be rewarded when they do something good. Lets all hope they don't force DLC to segment the playerbase again.

all looks interesting. but i guess some will over use some features like teleporting behind you and this absorbing force ball. the SP looks rather more interesting which im more interested in, but i wait and see how long it is. if its just 3-4 hours long, i may skip the game and wait until its on special.

Fingers crossed it's still alive 6 months after release. Boyfriend got the original Titanfall and couldn't find a game 3 months in, sooo... yeah. THAT's a hell of a deal-breaker for an MP-only game.

thats true. i havent played the first one for over a year now. also because i hardly found any servers to play on. its like many MP games as such are hardly being played. first they are played like mad when they are released but after several months its dead like the game doesnt exist anymore.

Like with any good multiplayer-only game, eventually it boils down to the smaller, dedicated groups.

Take Left 4 Dead 2. Hop on there now and you may find a pub match or two of versus, but it's hardly what I'd call consistent or 'lively'. However, I've been a part of, and am aware of, numerous dedicated groups who still, to this day, regularly play Versus/Realism Versus matches. Each group consists of dozens to even a few hundred people, all friends of friends. There is nary a day or week that goes by where at least a few of them aren't playing a game of Versus with a PUG lobby.

[i}Titanfall[/i] has essentially become the same. You're lucky if you can find even a partially full pub game. However, there are still a fair few groups who play private matches and scrims. There are even still tournies, though I'm not up to date on those.

Tis the nature of nearly all multiplayer-only online games.[footnote]And really, most game in general. Even singleplayer games. Most players play for a bit when it's new, then move on. Only a few keep playing long after.[/footnote] Some may start out big but people move on, leaving only the dedicated. There are few exceptions to this trend.

dont get me wrong. its not like im expecting it to last forever. of course people want something new or lost interest but you kind of expect a game to be played at regardless since new players join every now and then.
like with BF3. so many say its a great game and for over a year now i havent found a single server that is full or even a handful of people. even modes i dislike.
