I "prestiged" my first time not too long ago, and was going to switch up my usual classes from the G2A4 Rifle (w/ match trigger) to the shotgun and carbine. And I love the Smart Pistol, because it's fun and annoying as hell. As for the secondaries and anti-titan, I rarely use them because once you bring those weapons out, you're either in a bad situation or you need to reload, and against a titan who knows what he's doing, it might not be worth giving your position away by firing on him if you dont have one of those electro-nades to distract him.

OH, which reminds me, the satchel charge is good. Just jump on a titan's back, fire at the core a few times to lure the pilot out, and then immediately toss a satchel out and blow it up as you jump away from the titan, and no more pilot. I've had that work like 90% of the time a pilot decides to jump out.

As for my usual titan loadout, while I do like the bulky part of the Ogre, the balance of medium armour and 2 dashes on the Atlas is more useful in my eyes. I like to be as aggressive as I can be when I'm in my Atlas, and will fire my 40mm Cannon (w/ extended clip) until I'm close enough to deploy my electric smoke and start punching with the big punch perk, or clear out grunts/pilots trying to capture points with my Cluster Missile, which works amazingly well at clearing up tight spaces and closed off Hardpoints.

A little thing I do like that they did was that after you prestige, in order to prestige again, you need to use specific weapons or titans and get specific challenges done in order to advance, which is the main reason I'm using the shotgun now. I need to get 50 total titan kills with the 40mm Cannon and 100 pilot kills with the shotgun, and I only imagine it gets more complicated the more you go.

That was a good read, and again convinced me that the Carbine is the best gun. It just works for every possible situation.
I wouldn't say the best. It's very good, don't get me wrong, and it stays strong at any range, but Titanfall is a fairly fast paced shooter that focuses on close range more than longer ranges. Conversely the Carbine's hip fire sucks horribly, which does weigh a bit against it.

If this was Battelfield I'd agree with you, Carbine hands down, as is I think there are other weapons at the same "level".

Haha but only fools shoot at close range. I always go for the jump kick to the head.

But seriously, I find it works just fine at close range, I don't often hip-fire, instead I always try to go for a headshot. And I'd say the majority of my kills are at medium to long range for the most part.

Eh, I can't listen to anything Yahtzee (or any similar reviewer) says, too much cynicism for my tastes. All they ever do is bemoan how games these days are shit, which I disagree with completely.
I feel the same way. Yahtzee always does raise some valid concerns, but his reviews work better as entertainment than an accurate evaluation of the content. Sometimes he focuses way too much on kicking in open doors rather than get to the underlying problem of a game.

Either way, he did say that he had really fun playing Titanfall, so there's that. ^^

I think I'd be doing more Matrix/John Woo style wallrun and gun playing if it wasn't so disorienting; like there were two times when I thought, "I'm gonna run on the wall and double-jump all around this mofo, and he won't know where I'm coming from!" Long story short, I only confused myself, and when I watched my death cam, the guy I was fighting barely did anything while I buzzed around like a bug for a few second before landing with my back to him XD

It's why I'm not good with the uber fast shooters or playing Scout on TF2 - I can't keep up with myself. Still at a loss for Titan weapons too.

Ooph. Well, it depends.

I make extensive use of the custom loadout slots, changing them up often. The one I use is determined by the map, the mode, and/or what kind of "mood" I'm in[footnote]I.E. wanting to be sneaky, wanting to go full-on Rambo, etc.[/footnote].

And since I can't seem to sleep, I might as well list them all here. Bare in mind, these are all subject to frequent change and don't include which mods/attachments I use.

Primary Weapon - Smart Pistol Mk5
Anti-Titan Weapon - Sidewinder AT-SMR
Sidearm - B3 Wingman
Tactical Ability - Cloak
Ordinance - Satchel Charge
Tier 1 Kit - Power Cell
Tier 2 Kit - Warpfall Transmitter

Primary Weapon - R-101C Carbine
Anti-Titan Weapon - Charge Rifle
Sidearm - Hammond P2011
Tactical Ability - Cloak
Ordinance - Frag Grenade
Tier 1 Kit - Enhanced Parkour
Tier 2 Kit - The "Icepick"

Primary Weapon - EVA-8 Shotgun
Anti-Titan Weapon - Mag Launcher
Sidearm - Hammond P2011
Tactical Ability - Active Radar Pulse
Ordinance - Frag Grenade
Tier 1 Kit - Quick Reload Kit
Tier 2 Kit - Minion Detector

Primary Weapon - C.A.R. SMG
Anti-Titan Weapon - Sidewinder AT-SMR
Sidearm - Hammond P2011
Tactical Ability - Stim
Ordinance - Arc Grenade
Tier 1 Kit - Run N Gun
Tier 2 Kit - The "Icepick"

Primary Weapon - Krabr-AP Sniper
Anti-Titan Weapon - Archer Heavy Rocket
Sidearm - B3 Wingman
Tactical Ability - Cloak
Ordinance - Arc Mine
Tier 1 Kit - Enhance Parkour
Tier 2 Kit - Dome-Shield Battery

Primary Weapon - XO-16 Chaingun
Tactical Ability - Vortex Shield
Ordinance - Cluster Missile
Tier 1 Kit - Regen Booster
Tier 2 Kit - Core Extender
Titan Class - Atlas

Primary Weapon - Quad Rocket
Tactical Ability - Electric Smoke
Ordinance - Cluster Missile
Tier 1 Kit - Nuclear Ejection
Tier 2 Kit - Survivor
Titan Class - Stryder

Primary Weapon - Plasma Railgun
Tactical Ability - Particle Wall
Ordinance - Slaved Warheads
Tier 1 Kit - Fast Autoloader
Tier 2 Kit - Core Accelerator
Titan Class - Stryder

Primary Weapon - Arc Cannon
Tactical Ability - Electric Smoke
Ordinance - Rocket Salvo
Tier 1 Kit - Regen Booster
Tier 2 Kit - Big Punch
Titan Class - Stryder

Primary Weapon - 40mm Cannon
Tactical Ability - Vortex Shield
Ordinance - Cluster Missile
Tier 1 Kit - Dash Quickcharger
Tier 2 Kit - Core Accelerator
Titan Class - Ogre

I more commonly play the first two custom loadouts for each, but again I switch up often.

I tend to prefer mobility/stealth-based Pilot loadouts and mobility/utilitarian Titan loadouts (hence my preference for the Stryder).

I don't play the game but my brother does.
He decided he would put some strategies that he didn't think folks know much about into a video or 2 explaining things.

I thought the Spectre Hacking Strategy is an interesting take.

I like that Spectre hacking strategy enough that I've equipped the icepick tactical ability so I can do it better.

My tactic is to use the C.A.R SMG with counterweight so that I can run and gun more easily. Even though the range isn't as good as the Carbine, it makes up for it by being easier to hip-fire.

As for titan, I like the 40mm cannon and use auto-eject and nuclear ejection for cheap kills when my titan is taken out.

Isn't it a problem that guys can see you lock on to them while you're lining up a shot with the rail gun?

First I'd like to say that Titanfall is brilliant, second its made me realise that whatever I had at 14-20 to make me good at shooters I've lost, dear god I get owned.

My tactic is to hide in corners and hope no one notices me while I try in vain to not get absolutely devastated. It's a young mans game and I'm on 23 ffs.

Sometimes, yes. But for the most part they either:

A: Think it's coming from another direction. (I'm a sneaky sniper)
-or-
B: Think they can take their own shot before I fire.

The former happens a LOT in Last Titan Standing, which is where I use that config most often. The latter is where the Particle Shield and the Stryder's triple dashes come in handy.

Dash behind cover to dodge, dash back out to fire, dash back in for cover and to recharge.

At first plush it seems bad, but it's actually quite effective in Last Titan Standing matches. I spend most of the fight at long range and the Stryder's speed and dashes help keep me there should one of the enemy Titans attempt to get in close.

Huh, who would've thunk it. I usually scramble to get behind cover the second I see someone locking on to me.
I'm familiar with the Stryder keep-away game, but I usually go for the weapons that can dish out damage on short notice. But I guess I can see how a sniping stryder would be effective, especially on large open maps.

When I'm not doing Regen challenges, I use exactly one Pilot and one Titan loadout.

Pilot:
R101 Carbine (Suppressor and HCOG)
RE-45 Autopistol
Enhanced Parkour Kit
Warpfall Transmitter
Cloak
Arc Grenade (Beast for killing titans)

Titan:
Atlas chassis
40mm Cannon (Extended Magazine)
Electric Smoke
Cluster Missile
Regen Booster
Big Punch
