I do have one hole to poke in your post. This isn't unprecedented. It was for sure in Modern Warfare 1 and 2, which were created by the guys at Infinity Ward before they were given the boot and became Respawn. It might have happened in other Call of Duty games, but those were the only two I owned myself and bought map packs for. So the biggest FPS franchise ever, AND the one selling tons of map packs set the precedent for not splitting up friends.
