Unless Respawn does something unprecedented like limiting pack-owners to non-pack maps when grouping with non-pack owners. But I've not seen any indication that they're following that particular development path. Probably because then there'd be no incentive for pack-owners to pressure non-pack-owners into buying the pack.
I do have one hole to poke in your post. This isn't unprecedented. It was for sure in Modern Warfare 1 and 2, which were created by the guys at Infinity Ward before they were given the boot and became Respawn. It might have happened in other Call of Duty games, but those were the only two I owned myself and bought map packs for. So the biggest FPS franchise ever, AND the one selling tons of map packs set the precedent for not splitting up friends. A franchise made famous by the people now working on Titanfall.

So answer me this: In a premium-priced, multi-player only game that was released with an industry record-low of just 15 maps, why would anyone WANT to pay $3+ for new maps? Especially when that game also requires subscribing to an online, paid service to even play.
Those who are getting their moneys worth out of it.

I'm enjoying the fucking hell out of this game. One of the best FPS's I've played in years.

Looks pretty fucking good. Not that I really needed any more maps too be honest. The ones in the game already are great, best map design I've seen in years.

But yeah I'll be picking this up.

Hyperbole much?

No way is 15 maps an industry record low. And these 15 maps are of utmost quality. I wager more design time was spent making just one Titanfall map compared to 10 maps in a game like Unreal Tournament, and it shows. Also what paid service? Xbox Live? That's hardly the developers fault, just play it on PC. It's far better on PC anyway.

I say it is the best FPS I've ever played. From now on, whenever I play another FPS, I'm going to be incredibly disappointed that I can't wall-run, double jump and pretty much fly all over the map.

The mobility is amazing!

100+ hours played, enjoying every second of it. And people say it isn't worth the money... What a fucking joke.
