A link to the only forum I frequent more than this one.

Some interesting new discovery on the effects cell phones have on animals (and possibly) humans.

Obviously this is still in the theoretical stages and still has a ways to go before becoming something to call home about... or not in this case.

Anywho, thoughts?

Looks like old news, people have been talking about mobile phones causing brain tumors and such for ages now.
Luckily for me I barely use my mobile and when I do I usually use headphones or put it on speaker thus no head problems for me!

By the way what's with the image tags?

Anything that has anything to do with Alex Jones is icky and oozes batshit crazy.

The evidence is solid, I just hate getting the news from his website.

The guy literally never leaves home without his tinfoil hat.

This is literally old news, some of the studies are from 2003 yet there still isn't a solid link between cell phones and health problems in the brain.

As others have stated its pretty old studies and they havent yet found a link between tunours and mobile phone use.

Also there is always the chance that a radioactive tumour will result in some kind of superpower, ideally telekensis, (although I wouldnt turn down telepathy if thats all thats available)

You mean we can stop using the hats now?

----

Last I heard the waves produced by phones are too wide to hit anything such as our brain. I could be wrong, I am no expert.

Honestly though, I think time is the only thing that will tell. I will say this if cell phone and wi-fi signals are damaging us in anyway we are truly fucked as a species.

Yeah because I totally take people who wear tinfoil hats seriously.

There still isn't a solid link established and I don't typically hold it against my head so much, so I think I'll just dance along. Dancee dancee, lalalala...

Yeah. I remember hearing the results of someone actually looking into these claims. It came out that you raise the temperature of your brain more every night just by putting your head on a pillow than you ever do talking on a cellphone (which is the important thing here; cell phones emit microwave radiation, which raises the temperature of water. Your body is mostly water, so if cell phone radiation were doing anything, it would be raising your body temperature. Except it's not doing it, at least not to any important degree.)

Captcha: good for nothing. Yes, fears about cell phone radiation are good for nothing.

Oh, by the way, the whole "cell phones cause tumors" thing was a fear raised by the old analog models from the 80's and early 90's. Modern cell phones emit a lot less radiation than those, so even if this was once a legitimate fear, it's not anymore.

Whatever the reason for the creation of this myth, it persists because of science illiteracy.

As others have said here, it's the wrong kind of radiation. Microwaves are not ionizing radiation; they don't knock off or otherwise alter pieces of your DNA the way UV, x-rays, and gamma rays do. It's lower energy than the visible light that you walk or work under all day. All microwaves can do to you is cause your molecules to vibrate and thus heat up. As for the damage it can do from heat, you'd notice the warming in your scalp long before it could affect your brain. In fact, the US military has a nonlethal microwave crowd-dispersal device developed precisely because the waves don't penetrate much farther than the fatty layers of the skin, and thus do no lasting damage while still causing debilitating pain.
