Losing Faith in humanity would probably take something similiar to what happens in The Dark Knight. Where someone who has a true heart is brought down to their lowest level (Harvey/Two Face) To restore it. Movie Tie-in games, Bands that break up then Reform and Films with more then one sequel would all Cease to exist (except star wars and lord of the rings).

I never lost it. Because I'm not a melodramatic pillock.

But if I did, I would need a slap around face and a bucket of cold water over my head, then I should become a sensible person again.

Well I my self have not lost faith in huamity at all really. Shit happens after all and there will always be ass holes out there. As for what it would take well I'd have to say countries that have been fighting for years coming to getthing to stop things like AIDS, world hunger and abuse.

Me dying. One good person is enough, and I am good.
I will never lose faith, as long as I live and can help others. Then, maybe they will feel a little better and help others too, and so on.

There is going to be a Justin Beiber film. Humanity fucks me over once again.

only thing that would have me restore my faith are
A) No more Robbers, 'Baddies' and overall no more jerks.
B) No more Pure Racism
C) Nationalism (ie hating a person of a different country) Ending

I dunno, I don't remember a time when I had faith in anything. I make a lot of investments in my life and faith isn't the kind I ever make.

I invest a lot of time and effort in fellow human beings and their well-being because they are

1. pretty much necessary for my survival
2. sufficiently predictable, and
3. fascinating.

It's guite simple.

When the revolution is finally over and has succeeded, then my faith in humanity will be restored.

there is no other way and it shall not happen until then

I think the Escapist loses its collective faith in humanity every 10 minutes or so.
We're edgy, misanthropic outcasts.
Nothing to do with crippling social ineptitude and a persistent case of virginity. No, sirree.

If I lost faith in humanity, I definitely wouldn't announce it to a forum, I'd probably kill myself or something. It'd take a lot for me to lose my faith in humanity.

And jesus I hate how that phrase is thrown around all the time.

Is it logical to live with a species known for their self-destructive behavior???

I don't think anyone really loses their faith in humanity. Just a hyperbole for how mad or depressed some news about some kind of bollocks or tripe makes the person feel- and are looking for a place to whine about it with other people who will listen, since they once (or do) feel the same way.

If someone really did lose their faith in humanity, they'd probably go off in the woods, become a hermit.
Most of them, though, realize they're being overly dramatic, stop and go about their lives when they grow older and realize, "shit isn't that bad"

So, judging from the reaction to admittedly tragic and saddening news stories, there seems to be a large contingent of such people. My question is this: What would it take, hypothetically, to restore it?
Global peace combined with sound and functional breeding more akin to how other mammals spread instead of multiplying more like a virus like we do now.

It's the very least I'll demand before cultivating any sort of faith in humanity. Until then I'll consider us vermin in desperate need of extermination...

... Depends entirely on what you want and what this supposed self-destructive behaviour entails?
