To Everyone Who Hasn't Played Psychonauts: Why You Should Play Psychonauts

I managed to play through it back when I used GameTap, before it localised to a website and was essentially Steam but green, and they had it on special for free. I absolutely loved this game and immediately bought a copy for myself. I completely agree with this review, everyone should play Psychonauts, it's a truly unique experience. I loved it.

its the best of the berstest because of presentation, wacky level design and a silly story yet comes short in its actualy gameplay. its more like a b or a C+ at worst. can i have a free copy, plz? you convinced me you really like this game but you didn't convince me to buy it, srry

I simply said that the gameplay was "lackluster with a very unique, cool feature" which is a B, but the A+ presentation and high quality everything else averaged it out to about an A. Nowhere close to C+.

If you've already played it, then I can respect opinion... but then why would I have to convince you to buy it?

An alright review. I like how you described the game in detail but still not too much to ruin it for anyone who wants to play it. What I didn't seem to like too much was the constant use of a "Massive Floating Circus Made Entirely Out Of Butcher Cut Meat." Every time I read that I wanted to reach through the monitor and smash your face against the keyboard...sorry but I dislike repetitive things like that. I mean I get it. the circus level was weird for you and made you feel sick, but you can use other words to describe it as oppose to using the same over used line. Continuing on, I do like how you separated the subjects. They seem to flow nicely. I didn't like the overuse of caps at first but now looking back I think they helped to add a personality to your review. Over all has your review inclined me to play it? Mmmmaybe, but that is a big maybe since your review does come off, and no offence by this, a little fanboyish. So with that alone I believe it to be biased and would proceed with caution.

Fair enough, although I find repetition to be funny in some circumstances, and attempted to emulate such circumstances. Didn't mean to make you mad.

Psychonauts SCREWED with my mind as a kid! Lobotomizing young children to make doomsday tanks!! A retired psychic invading your mind when you sniff bacon!! A delusional guard of an Asylum muttering about conspiracy theories with a "milkman!!" And to top it all of, the main character your playing as is voiced by INVADER ZIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-l

I'm still not going to play it, just because a game is well reviewed and played by a bunch of people doesn't mean Its the game for me...hell all the bioware and bio shock games have been awful to me

It's always good to bring up Psychonauts.

I have a few things i could add to that review. First: 100% completion is not worth it. Second: the most hilarious level, in my opinion, is a twisted suburbia of "Milkman Conspiracy". And third: for some reason, i didn't find A Massive Floating Circus Made Entirely Out Of Butcher Cut Meat particulary disturbing, and it wasn't that hard at Rank 90.

I'm a perfectionist, so I always find 100% completion to be worth it. I can see why you might not, though. Also, I didn't find the Milkman Conspiracy as funny as much as it made me paranoid, but each to their own. And really, I was reaaaaly milking the fact that I could actually write "A Massive Floating Circus Made Entirely Out Of Butcher Cut Meat" and it would make sense. Kinda. It DID make me sick, though. Again, each to their own, I guess.

Bah, I didn't enjoy what I played of it. The only good thing about it in my eyes is the humor.

How far did you get?

I think I spent about an hour on it? Can't quite remember. I'll admit that that isn't a lot of time, and I hear it gets better later, but the core gameplay bored me to tears, and I just wasn't willing to put up with that much longer. Platforming just isn't my thing, apparently.
