I use to play WoW a couple years ago but eventually I left after growing tired of it. But WoW isn't really a game you can forget easily. With constant patches and expansions gamers are usually bombarded with imagery and news on this game. Sometimes I do miss playing. I was just wondering if past players also feel like giving the world of warcraft another try. If you don't play anymore, why did you leave? If you still play what keeps you playing?

I quit a few times, the last time about a year ago. I grew tired of the guild-drama and got some new games to play. Occasionally I still get the urge, but the last time that happened I downloaded all the latest patches, went to the account (re-) activation page and decided I didn't feel like playing after all.

I never really had the chance of playing with friends, which made the grind boring as hell, and the last drop was when I got killed by a boss at the end of a quest line, and the item needed to summon it again had been consumable, meaning that I coulndn't try again.
I would still like to somehow run through it without any grind, just playing for the story.

I quit wow about half a year ago because i found it boring, and most of the people i knew quit. That and I took up WH40k TT.
But Yes I sometimes miss WoW, to just let the hours pass, but I'm forcing myself not to start plaing again as I don't have the time to sink in to it.

I played Horde about 3 years ago, gotto level 70 and quit, i did what i needed to do, plus i did the math, with all the money i spent on WoW, i could have done other things, like get good xbox 360 games and whatnot, now im a console gamer 100%, and im never going back there, A, because its a waste, and B, because my girlfriend told me if i did she would cut my balls off...

Played it once because my mates play it. Ignored the story because it was crap, hated the grind, hated the fact that the grind is covered up by quests that involve grind, hated the fact levelling up any skill took grind, did I mention the grind? Anyways my mates still play it and tell me to go back, but I really don't see it as anything more than something to kill time with.

I do miss playing, actually.
But money issues, as well as not having friends to play with makes it less inviting.
Although I could probably afford it now, and I'm sure I could find a wealth of people on the Escapist to play with....
No! No no, I'm done. At least until I get a desktop. I'm not going to play WoW on my netbook.

Over the past 5 years, I have quit and rejoined WoW 6 times. I am currently on "quit" mode but I know when Cataclysm comes out, I will be back for more. Something about it...like Blizzard is projecting air-borne crack through the screen into my eyeballs!

Sometimes I miss playing but I then go and play other MMOs or try and trial of other games. The main thing that stopped me playing was guild drama and the extreme reactions to some players who take the game really seriously

I quit WoW sometime around september, and I still miss it, not as a raider which is how I quit. I generally got sick of raiding and had turned my back on the Role Playing community, but if I ever return: Moonglade, Dwarf Warrior, Elrok. =) I do sometimes want to return but without trying to be a egotistical I know too much to start over again, and leaving/deleting my 6 level 80's and 73 would be too hard.

Not re-activating my subscription until I get my hands on Assassins Creed 2 and Mass Effect 2.
Tho it's tempting...the 3 new dungeons look amazing.

I continue to play due to my friends, who are seven different shades of awesome.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm just taking a break or I've quit for good. Anyhow, I guess the main reason I stopped playing is because all my real life friends did, it got a little boring because of that, despite the fact that I had met quite a number of interesting people while playing.

I quit once before because I got bored of playing, especially alone and it seemed to be the same old, same old with a bit of extra boring thrown in. Then someone got me Wrath and I started playing again to try it out. Problem is I'm now bored of it again and out of money, so I have stopped.

Think it might be the need for something repetitive occasionally that makes me go back, as I am a bit of a glutton for punishment.

I miss the first few weeks after you truly farm an instance, where you dick around with your mates; when you have new shiny gear to murder 5mans with no tank. when you could do Zul'Aman bears with alts stuff like that; I also miss the rush from a server first.

I do not miss the whiny and awful playing people, and I have more fun with model building :)

Edit: I just remember what I had the most fun doing: solo healing Karazhan with 9 other sunwell geared people; I shot more lightning bolts then I cast heals <3

I quite in about four months ago, raiding got monotonous and then my headset broke. After a few more raids of being able to hear but not talk on teamspeak, I decided I wasn't having any more fun and quit.

I'll likely reactivate my account a month in advance of Cataclysm so I can grind out some cash and gear to jumpstart my Worgen so I can level him quickly :p
