Not a Sonic fan, but I love Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I also really like Sonic 1 and Sonic 3 but after that I stopped caring about the games.

Both Sonic Advneutre games.
I guess Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is better because of the added multiplayer, and that I didn't hate the new characters.

It was just awesome. It worked, had a story, good music, gameplay that actually felt a bit like speed whilst having to think about what's infront of you. I supposed the non speed based levels may have dragged it down for some people. Also, if you care about them, CHAOS ARE AWESOME!

I love everything about Sonic, except his games. I only played two Sonic games, Sonic 2 and Sonic HEroes
I liked the later better.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles because it's good. Also, Hyper Sonic, Super Knuckles and Super Tails are pretty awesome, if a bit silly.
But then again, that's why the old Sonic games were good, they didn't feature all those shitty attempts at having drama in a game about a blue hedgehog fighting some fat dude.

Probably Sonic the Hedgehog 2, if I really had to choose one. Though really, I tend to hold the four main 16 bit-era Sonic games (Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles) in equally high regard. That, and Sonic 1 has my favourite zone in any Sonic game - Starlight Zone :). When I was a kid, I used to dream about visiting that place, I liked it that much.

I was a Sonic fan in middle school (even though I didn't own any of the major console games). I thought Knuckles was awesome and that Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was the best thing ever whenever I got to play it. I think the Sonic Advance games were probably the last good thing before the franchise (should-have) died.

I can't believe the dude posting this threads favorite game is Sonic Adventure....That game was TERRIBLE!!!!! Anyways, my favorite is Sonic 2, just like I'd imagine 90% of people who actually post on this thread will say. Seriously though, a 3d Sonic? Was there a worse idea in gaming history? (probably...but it definitely ranks up there) also- no offense, Sonyfanboy557, you are just as entitled to your opinion as I am.

It's a toss up between Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast and Sonic R for the Saturn.

Sonic Adventure 2: It was the first time ever I played a game multiple times even after finishing the main story. It was good. GOOOOOOOD.

Sonic R. It was fun and I liked racing to the music. Mostly nostalgia.

Hmm, did anyone ever try to summon the Tails Doll?

I'm sincerely hoping that Generations will take the crown for something such as this. I love the first four Megadrive games, the Game Gear/Master System ones were a bit before my time so I never could get in to the 8-bit graphics-style, but I've also honestly liked Sonic Adventure DX and 2 Battle, Heroes, and Unleashed. I tried to like '06, but it was..just plagued with bad design decisions and bugs.

So if Generations can effectively capture the feel of the classic Sonic 2 or 3 style 2D levels with "Classic Sonic" (and not have the camera as freaking close as it was in Sonic 4 Episode 1) and can streamline the Unleashed-Daytime-style levels for "Modern Sonic", then it will probably cause me to go into a coma from happiness.

Sonic Colors, after 7 years of screwing up, they finally get it right once again. The fact they changed voice actors was the icing on the delicious cake that is the 2010-present Sonic the Hedgehog era.

And Generations looks freaking badass too.

Probably Sonic 1 for the Master System, It's a awesome game and I prefer it to the Mega Drive Sonic 1, I really enjoyed the 8-bit Sonics (1,2 and Chaos) but they don't seem to get as much love as the 16-bit games.

The 16-bit ones are classics though, especially the second, it's the perfect sequel really.
I was gonna say that .. but you beat me to it.

Sonic 1 for the Master System was hard as fuck! .. The Genesis version is soft compared to it.

Call me nostalgic, but Sonic 1 & 2 will always have a special place in my gaming heart.

Sonic the Hedgehog (the first one) is probably my favorite, it was the first game I played, so it will always have a little special place for me.

If I had to look away from that, I'd say Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, if that counts. I think it does, but there seems to be some discussion.
Anyway, I feel that's the ultimate and most complete Sonic experience that's ever been made, and ever will be made. It all just comes together perfectly. All the great levels, with all these small different paths, that makes all playthroughs different, gives the game a good replay value. The characters are fun to play as, and I don't feel robbed of anything if I pick one that isn't Sonic. Of course, the graphics and music are improved and polished in comparison to the earlier games.
I feel this is where Sega really got it right, and this is where Sonic should've ended, on top.
(Fun fact; They actually did plan for this to be the last Sonic game, but that didn't work out.)

Sonic Advance series Because it's fun platforming that goes back to the old school sonic games I grew up with including Amy Rose who is my favorite sonic character next to tails.
