Sense i'm getting Revalations for chrsitmas, and I will likely buy the others from steams holiday sale, I was wondering if YOU could go back and play the games in any order you want, what order would it be?
Would you play them in the order of release?
Would you start at Ezio's story line, and play 1 after you've finished revalations?
Would you start at revalations and play backwards?
Would you do any of the other variables I have not listed?
So, if you could play the series how you wanted (Story wise) How would you do it?

Play them in order? The story is important, if you play them out of order you're likely to end up confused as to WTF is going on.

(Well, you don't really ~need~ to play #1)

In total chronological order by modern descendent:

The Fall
Altair's Chronicles
Assassin's Creed
Bloodlines
Lineage
Assassin's Creed II (up to Sequence 11)
The Battle of Forli (sequence 12)
Discovery
Bonfire of the Vanities (sequence 13)
Assassin's Creed II (sequence 14)
Brotherhood (opening)
Ascendance
Brotherhood (rest of)
The Da Vinci Disappearance
Revelations
Embers

Of course if you're more concerned about the ancestors being in chronological order, read The Fall last. Also, keep this list handy if you wish to have a complete run-through of the franchise xD

He's talking about both games, books, and I believe DLC's.
