So we are July first, it's the 148th Canada day. For those who live here, do you celebrate ? is there celebration where you live ? how did you spend you day off ? does it mean something for you ?

Not from Canada but I respect your nation. You are the friendly cousin we all love.

And as a European, we would like to invite you to Eurovision. We did it with Australia for some reason this year so why not Canada next year. I few rules, no Bieber, no Dion, and no Nickelback for God sakes. Maybe Maroon 5 (are they Canadian?) but only if we are hammered that night and campy as fuck.

I was going to go into town to get free cake but traffic is too nuts. I will be going out for the fireworks show though.

Happy Canada Day!

Here's a free song for anyone who wants it in celebration. [http://arrogantworms1.bandcamp.com/track/when-canada-rules-the-world-2] Don't feel bad if you don't want it; we understand. :)

Oh, does Canada Day get shortened or mangled into something else, the way Australia Day becomes Straya Day?

I love Canada. For every morbidly obese reality TV star we give the world, you give us a Ryan Gosling or Cobie Smulders.

Happy Canada Day.

Take it away, Maria.

But Dion already won once.

OT: It's a day off work and last night my brother had a party where there was some drinking and fireworks with a few friends of his, but I just slept in since it's in the middle of the week and since it's not the 150th yet I see nothing special about this anniversary. I guess it's because of all the big anniversaries lately in Quebec which either ended with a 0 or a 00, but I've become jaded to any anniversary that isn't a nice rounded off number or proportion of 100.

Change to a base 37 counting system then.

O, Canada. An Arcane, well-adjusted land. Particularly for its age, only a wee 148 years and already claying like a pro!

(Seriously, congrats!)

In 2017 we will have the 150th of Canada and the 375th of Montreal at the same time it will be a huge party !

Actually I was working today. Canada day can be moved so I'm off Friday. Canada day in Quebec is moving day, and since I don't move... But last week was the 181th St-Jean-Baptiste, which is Quebec national day, it was a nice party !

Happy Birthday Canada, thanks for being such a great neighbor. Now could you please replace all of our Starbucks with Tim Horton's?

I worked today, which was nice because I got holiday pay for it. Was a nice day otherwise, had lunch at Timmies and hummed the parts of the Canadian anthem I can remember as I walked home earlier, pretty sure that means I'm only one apology away from being a walking stereotype.

I'm not from Canada, I just wanted another opportunity to post this comic [http://smbc-comics.com/index.php?id=3670].

Oh, and since this[footnote]Well, was, given that I am in Europe and thus several hours ahead, but I'm counting it as Canadian time.[/footnote] is Canada's birthday:

What are you talking about? We had three Celine Dion's this year.

My folks are in the USA for vacation, so I'm here alone with my cat (also beat the gargoyles in Dark Souls. Woo). I wanted to have pancakes drizzled in maple syrup, but looks like someone finished off the mix. And then I was going to make perogies with my dinner, but turns out we don't have any of that either.

But what I did have was some Canadian salmon and a shitton of maple syrup. Yes, it is a thing, and yes, it was delicious. Mmmm, Canada.

Man, I love the Arrogant Worms. Didn't know they were still making music. Thanks for the hook-up, fellow Canadian.

I would have loved to have celebrated. But I was working and right after work I needed to rush home to have a meeting with the justice of the peace who will be officiating for me and my fiance next month.

Pity. there is a pretty damn good party here in Halifax every year and I miss 9 out of 10 of them from working in food service.

I celebrated by going to work, and then coming home and baking to death in this INSUFFERABLE HEAT WAVE.
