So we are July first, it's the 148th Canada day. For those who live here, do you celebrate ? is there celebration where you live ? how did you spend you day off ? does it mean something for you ?
So... Wait. That means... ~counts on fingers~ Australia has been a country for... Nearly 80 years longer than you guys?
History is so confusing... @_@

Anyway, Happy Canada day, or whatever you're supposed to say. XD

Just to confuse you more, Canada has only been a fully independent country for 34 years and Australia STILL isn't. Prior to it Canada was independent under royal permission (aka we function on our own but the Governor General was the final authority. After 1981 the GG is largely a figure head and only has authority so long as we allow it.

Happy Birthday Canada, thanks for being such a great neighbor. Now could you please replace all of our Starbucks with Tim Horton's?
I can't say I blame you. Up here they're just about as prolific but Timmies has better coffee and Timbits. :D

Happy Canada day!

From a patriotic American I sincerely thank you for being such an awesome country. America could not ask for a better hat than Canada.

well, it's complicated. it's been 148 years since the confederation that joined ontario, quebec, nova scotia and new-brunswick into Canada.

but before that there was 5 or 6 change in the administration of the territory after the fall of new France.

I shall spend the last hour of Canada Day celebrating by apologizing profusely.

I'm sorry that I didn't notice this earlier.

I'm sorry that you just wasted your time reading my comment.

I'm sorry for that time I taped a "Kick me" sign to the back of some kid from sixth grade. I'm not sorry for the teacher I did that to, though, they deserved that.
At least 30% of that apology had better be good-natured sarcasm, eh?

Yay...I don't care. Canada, call me when it's 150th birthday, then we can party. I celebrated today with naps, microwaved pasta, and this: http://agar.io/

Canada had actually been doing pretty well in that game earlier.

I think to celebrate, we should all press the red button.

Don't give the tech team any ideas for next year.

But, who doesn't want to see a Canadian red button? It can even say "Sorry" to you after you press it...

OT: I spent Canada Day watching this video:
It was the most productive thing I did on this day for Canadians...

I spent most of it sitting back, relaxing and completing my final touches on Operation Turn Montreal Into One Big Tank for the upcoming invasion of Atlantis trying a new character on Skyrim. So nothing terribly important, but it was nice to get a day off, given how busy some of the rest of this week is going to be.

Er...you mean since the First Fleet arrived? Not the same as Australia being a country. Going by Federation, Australia is 114 years, 7 months and one day. (Handy to have Federation on the first day of the 20th century, even if it gets overshadowed by New Year's)

Oh, does Canada Day get shortened or mangled into something else, the way Australia Day becomes Straya Day?
If not I suggest it becomes Canaday
I second the motion.

Oh no! I missed Canada day? It seems like a better reason to celebrate than most.
Oh well, happy Canada day anyway! Have been planning on living there in the future. It is always best to practice blending in.

I'm not totally sure myself, but I think (mind you only think) that this means if we get to Nova Scotia and plant a flag, we own Canada?
...Sounds good to me. When do we start?

Well see now that's a bit of problem for me you see, I'm not much for cold climates. Now I don't know for sure, but I'm given to understand that Nova Scotia gets a little on the nippy side now and then?
Ohh... Yeah... Better pack the extra-warm coats. Skiing wear maybe? Or will that not be warm enough?
Cold is... Annoying. XD

July 1st is also my birthday. Good thing I'm not Canadian!
My sister's birthday is the same so unless it's a hallmark year we're not celebrating the country's birthday so much as my sister's. Makes it easy to remember her birthday though. :p

Well now that I've sobered up after a delightful Wednesday, happy Canada day after everybody. Enjoy your tylenol, or antacids depending on how you overindulged.
