"Uh. Sam. Of course." He's commanding a team of field agents while on the field himself? Who is going to coordinate them? What the fuck is going on. "I'll be right on that then. Though if you don't mind me asking... who will call the shots?"

He'd left the impression with her that the whole OP was flying below 3E's usual channels and naturally assumed he was the one with the eagle eye (so to speak). The thought that they were operating on the fly alone made her a little nervous. Or was it excitement? She couldn't quite pinpoint that.

"I don't quite know who will call the shots, Anna just called me and said that I will be in the field with you guys. I'll call back and ask." He said

"Roger that then, Sam."

She felt incredibly strange calling her CO by his first name. Especially the spear-head.

"Whoever it'll be.. I'm looking forward to working with you."

She inclined her head in a curt nod and left their CO to sort whatever he had to sort. Time to tell the team that they'd be going in times three. Had that ever happened before? How did they handle it? Were there going to be different objectives? Was she going to be the only runner in that case? Would they be moving in together? Separate insertion points? Her wide went spinning off into every possible direction and she began formulating tactical plans. All useless, of course, she still din't know enough to draw up anything feasible. But it was fun.

The field runner made her way into the Gym and found Drake there. She'd missed a sparring session, apparently, and threw two quick glances between the men--making sure not to let them wander. Her glances, of course. Then she settled her eyes on Drake, raised an eyebrow and tilted head head to the side in a "over here" manner.

"Word from the Boss."

Drake rolled to his feet on the mat and nodded approvingly to Damien. The kid was good and he could probably hold his own against some rabid terrorist, no problem.

"You did good, lets do this again"

He nodded once more before grabbing his nearby towel, slinging it around his shoulders and replacing his shades.

'Never go anywhere without em'

He walked to Cheryl and leant against the wall, waiting for the almost inevitable bad news.

"So what has the 'CO' came up with to make the mission more difficult now? Do I have to have my hands tied behind my back aswell?"

"No. You'll be pushing his wheelchair while he does your work."

Cheryl cracked a slight (one might say challenging) grin. She didn't really know whether she was having a stab at Drake or Fisher; and so she left the interpretation of it up to the Agent.

"You'll be doing a three-some. Fisher is accompanying you and Stenrow on the field. He'll take the lead. Thought you might want to know."

.. she wondered how he'd take that.

I off to town, see ya later.

"Well, I didn't like the idea of leading from the front anyhow but why's the old man gotta jerk us around like this?"

And it was mostly true, A Splinter Cell needed to be focused in the field and couldn't have the added distraction of trying to co-ordinate someone else on the ground. But he had also appreciated the challenge that it might bring. The chance to stretch his skills and 'try something new' had appealed to him.

'Oh well, cant loose what you never had'

With that he nodded to Cheryl who looked like she had said her piece and returned to the punching bag to do some Savate combo's.

Cheryl shrugged in response. And since she couldn't come up with a reasonable enough answer, she left it at that.

She lingered for a while and stayed to watch Drake as she leaned by the wall. Then she remembered that it was rude to just stare at someone and left to find someone else to bug.

Fisher picked up the phone and dialed the secure number to call Third Echilon. No answer.

Huh?

Fisher got up and exited his office. He heard the sound of a car pulling into the lot outside, It stoped and someone got out. A figure appeared in the door wa, it steped forwad.

"Hello Sam."

"Hi Grim. You really should have told me you were coming, I would have cleaned up a bit."

Sam had managed to limber up for some excercise and had begun punching the dummy outside.
The nice air was better than that warm and sweatty air the usual gyms and training stations had, so it was inspiring. Sort of like it was in the field but minus the adrenaline.

After getting some punches in and upper cuts, he finally managed to break the dummy by the neck and arm, leaving it sort of half limpering downward and to the side.

I think I broke it
He thought to himself with a nervous grin as he tilted his head to reveal different angles. But it did nothing to help.

Cheryl eventually found Sam. The Stenrow one. She stood at a distance, and watched with bemusement as he was inspecting a broken practice dummy.

"What-ever has he done to you?"

Sam turned around quickly enough and was thinking about pulling his gun before he noticed who it was.
"Don't.... sneak up on me please"
He said as his breathing lowered and he gained his posture once more.
Then he gathered his sences and thought about what she said.
"...H-him?"
Sam said with a weird look as he pointed behind himself at the practice dummy.
"Heh, no I think I broke it"

Sam gathered his gun from the table next to him and inspected his clip.

Fisher asked Grim "What's in the duffle bag?"

"Your gear. How did the others take you being their leader?"

"Good, it didn't even seem that they knew who was until I said my name. Even then it didn't seem like they were that shaken or mad."

"Oh, we thought the other Splinter Cells were going to snap.".

"Come on, lets go to the commons." Fisher started off for it and Grim followed. They entered. All four ghosts were there, no Splinter Cells, and two HAWX.

"Well. Yes. I meant the dummy," she said and indicated the ruined thing with a tilt of her chin.

Then she offered the Agent a disarming smile.

"And noted, no more creeping about around you."

The field runner walked towards him, watching him work. Her eyes flitted to her 1911 resting comfortably at her side and she considered the range again.. but.. no.

"There's been another change in the OP. Our CO is coming with you on the field. He thought you and Fisk should know."

From across the factory, Cheryl could hear another car driving up to their new HQ (if one really wanted to call it that). She turned her head into the general direction of the sound, then brought her attention back to Stenrow.

"Any thoughts on that matter?"

Sam looked at Cheryl and then back at his pistol.
He finished reloading the clip before replying.
"Fisher? Argh, well as long as he won't get in my way"

Sam finished reloading and fired two rounds into the dummy's head almost instantly after complying.
"How about you? What are your thoughts on the subject?"
He noted as he nodded toward her and packed his pistol into his chest holster.

"Damn, these smell good," Black commented, pulling the pan out of the oven. Setting it on the stove top, he turned on the overhead fan to help cool its contents down. As it cooled, he dug through the fridge and cabinets for milk and several glasses. "Oh hell yeah, we got chocolate milk, too?" Grabbing a roll of paper towels, he set them beside the cups and began eating one of his fresh treats.

"Ay, who wants some chocolate chip cookies?"

Her shoulders twitched.

"I'm trying to keep an open mind here, but I'm running out of space," she answered, her voice it's usual low, gentle hum. "Don't get me wrong, I'm used to working on need-to know missions and I've seen, done and followed up on unconventional OPs... and this one is still weirding me out."

Makeshift HQ in the middle of no-where, on american soil, as though we ran out of excuses to use our military assets. A Splinter Cell leading his own, along with two unrelated elite units, in a joint OP? Fisher's record is impressive, yes, I won't argue that, but it's been a long while since he led a squad. Birds aside, those will have their own command coming from somewhere else. Though that's just it, isn't it? There's so much we don't know yet. The lack of intel on where we are going and what to expect--well, that's what really tickles me the wrong way."

She looked at the Agent and forced a slight smile, which didn't quite make it to her dull gray eyes.

"Maybe I'm just putting too much thought into it. I just don't like going in blind when I have a Cell to look after. Let alone two. Or three. Boggles my mind thinking about what all could go wrong."

Again she glanced into the general direction of where the engine sound and the crunch of gravel beneath tires had come from. Another asset?

"So, I guess I'll just wait and see, whether this'll turn into one major cluster-fuck, or an OP going down in unwritten history."

"Hey, Fisher." Mike said as Sam walked in with another agent. Damn, another spy? Why can't I ever just call in a air strike, shoot some rebels, and go home? Ho well, I didn't sign up thinking the army would be easy. Lutner approached Sam. "Say, Fisher, what exactly are we going up against? More Spanish rebels, or are we taking on a new enemy?"

"Middle eastern terrorists, but don't think they'll be spraying at you with AK's, the have some serious supplies coming in, mabey even attack helicopters and fighters. We don't know who's giving them these weapons. But this is how it'll work, Splinter Cells go in first, gather ant info, mabey take outsome HVT's, ghost and HAWX will go in, the Ghost will elimnate the asets. You'll get C4 with your gear, and your uniforms from the Armuy, an d the HAWX will get their full flight suits." Fisher said

"Same as always. First some Black Ops, then a second course of whoopass from conventionals, and after that the fly boys finally get of their asses and do something that doesn't involve sitting at base drinking until they piss themselves. Speaking of drinking, you and me should go get a drink later, maybe learn more about each other than the fact that I tried to kill you a few years back." Mike said, letting out a chuckle after the last sentence.

"I'll take you up on that, your gear won't arrive for a while, and by the way, This is Anna Grimsdottir, she'll be commanding us once we are at out AO." Fisher said to Mike.
