I am definitely getting Space Marine....sadly in Australia its expensive $89 and its released on the 8th.

As for multiplayer skin, there is only one way to go , the Black Templars dude.

I wanted this to launch everywhere but here in my town at a Gamestop or your EB games maybe, games can run us from a simple 60-50 bucks up to $75 and im picking upo both this games befor i have to go to work probly runing me at a max of 70 each, $140 and not to menchon the 40 i have to spend on gas each week to keep a full tank. I have dyslexia, and having it does not excuse people from using a spell checker (built into most forums and browsers).
Not having 100% grammar is fine, but failing to even look for the large red line is inexcusable.

If you have difficulty with spelling and grammar then you should try installing Google Chrome as your default internet browser. It has an in-built spell-check you can use to catch most of your mistakes, or you could give google a quick search and you'll probably be able to find a spell-check add-on for Firefox, IE, or whatever browser you are using at the minute.

On topic, I don't buy new games all that often, I was going to give the Space Marine Demo a whizz, but it asked me to install Origin and all this other junk, and I couldn't be bothered. I'm just waiting for Skyrim to come.

OT: As for the whole "Space Marines Chapter" thing, I don't really have any idea what you're talking about. However, I'll maybe wait for a Steam sale on Dead Island before getting it. I have no intentions of getting Space Marines 976: Based Off Of An RTS.

Space Marines are not based off an RTS.

The RTS itself was based off Warhammer 40k.

Warhammer 40k has been going since 1987.

Thanks for the clarification. I only knew Warhammer 40k by the RTS video games. Unfortunately it still really doesn't change my opinion on Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

hehe i dont blame you its a tierd consept, but as for Warhammer 40k i think its where most of the "Space marines" took there ideas from like most of Blizzards ideas for Warcraft and Starcraft.

If I am reading this correctly you are saying that the Warhammer 40k universe borrowed from Blizzard and warcraft/starcraft?

I have had this discussion before with a friend right after Starcraft II was launched.

I'll keep this short and to the point.

Warhammer 40k was released first as a tabletop game in 1987 and their universe has expanded ever since that time.

Warcraft was released was released in 1994. (Remember it well as I was in college at the time)
Starcraft was released in 1998.

I don't think anything more needs to be said about this.

I'd like to expand on what was started here a second.

Warcraft started out as a Warhammer game in conjunction with Games Workshop. GW pulled the license from Blizzard because they didn't like the direction Blizz were taking the game and wouldn't give Blizz rights to change any lore.

Blizz then had an unfinished game which they retitled to Warcraft and released the game you all now know.

Games Workshop sued them for basically ripping off their game and Blizz paid them a shit load of money out of court.

Starcraft had the same treatment with Blizz ripping off Warhammer 40k, again GW took them to the cleaners.

As for our OP there in the top of the quote. Warhammer 40k has been going for 24 years since 1987. It was started by Games Workshop which has been going since 1975 when they created Warhammer (thats the "normal" Warhammer games not the Warhammer 40k, as I said that didn't come about until 1987).

Yes i'm going into pointless detail but the OP seems to have zero idea what Warhammer 40k is or where it started.

as for the novals, I always see them in the book store but Iv never picked one up.

If you want I can PM you a list of good W40k novels to get you started.
For me, it was the "Eisenhorn" trilogy by Dan Abnett that pulled me into 40k. The novels are available as one tidy omnibus edition, and tell the story of an Imperial Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos; very entertaining and well-written, like most of Abnett's stuff.

Soul drinkers novels? OH OH Dark apostle as well! OH OH The space marine battles series and top it all off with The long running Horus heresy books.

love the books, the games ehhh, never really portrayed the universe well, i just stick to novels and table top.

I've enjoyed both the Horus Heresy and the Space Marine Battles up to this point.
I found Dark Apostle to be meh. Not bad, but decidedly meh. Maybe the other two novels will turn out a bit more interesting. As for the Soul Drinker novels, I haven't read them yet, so I can't make a qualified comment about those, but the fact that they're written by Ben Counter doesn't exactly make me look forward to them.

I started playing shortly before the release of the first Dawn of War and painted my army based on what I had seen of the Blood Ravens in the screenshots. They actually just played as a standard Space Marine army though.
