Too early for a Mass Effect 3 wishlist thread? Inconceivable!

The second game fixed every problem I had with the first. (Personally, I'm glad the inventory is gone, and I hope it stays gone. Fighting evil aliens and robots is fun; fumbling around with ammo upgrades for hours is not.) As for my ideas about the third game: I tend to assume that it'll play sort of like the second, but instead of building a team to fight the Collectors, you're building a galaxy-wide army to fight the Reapers. Personally, I kept Mordin's buddy's info about curing the Krogan genophage, I got Legion and Tali to get along, I saved the "heretic" Geth and got them to stop worshipping the Reapers, etc. I can totally see you bringing together this huge Council-Quarian-Krogan-Geth-etc. force for some huge space battle in the end. And that would be fucking awesome.

Also, I didn't romance Tali, but I'd like to see her face, too. Just out of curiosity.

I'd like for the following:

Mordin, Leigon, Tali and Garrus to return. Mordin was the coolest new character and there wasn't enough time for Legion to be fleshed out. Tali should return to please her fanboys and Garrus is just way too cool to be killed off.

The Geth and the Rachni should return to help (if you didn't kill them obviously) as a call back to a decision in the 1st game would be great.

While flying around and sending prbes to planets was entertaining enough to keep in the next game, take away the probe and fuel costs.

The protheans WERE bugs. In one of the side-missions you visit another prothean beacon that shows an extended vision of the Protean's warning message. There, you get to see that the old protheans looked exactly like the collectors.
Then why were there statues of Zoidberg-esque aliens all over Illos? Why does the Prothean's codex entry show one of these statues? And Collector DNA only contained traces of Prothean DNA. If they were always bugs they would not have been heavily modified, a sEDI claimed. That beacon probably showed a Pothean being turned into a Collector.

The real answer is that BioWare's writers probably didn't plan for the Collectors to be linked to the reapers when they designed them. But down the road they thought this idea was better, so they changed it. However they wren't going to overhaul all the work they had already done on designing Collectors, so they just stuck with the bug design.

Peace between the Geth and the Quarians(It's pretty clear that the ones with a problem are the Quarians).

Planetary exploration done right.

More hubs and more types of armor.

Homosexual relationships (I don't give two shits if Generic Christian Mom *1 thinks it will affect her 12 year old child that shouldn't even be playing the game in the first place.)

No "running gag" by destroying the Normandy a third time in ME3 only for it to be rebuilt under the name of "Normandy SR3".

Tali's face, Bioware. Fucking do it!

More EDI!

Whatever, just wash your hands.
fix the planets, either give us the running around planets without the frustration of the mako (give us like a jet or something) or give scanning the thrill of discovery either with being able to find cool things or give us cool blurbs when we find big hits like this
play it at like 2:30 in to see what I mean

My wish is for not so many ME spoiler threads starting up so soon...

That does not include this one, as the OP very kindly spoilered his post.

People weren't sure exactly what the Protheans looked like, since they were all wiped out so long ago. The "Zoidberg"-esque statues are what everyone ASSUMED they must look like, since that was all they had to go on.

Agreed. I'm still half way through the game and won't be able to finish for a while.

I'm looking at the gaming discussion forum and there are 4 ME2 spoiler threads.

I think the site needs a hints and spoilers section.

I'm afraid to click on anything in case I unwittingly uncover some major spoiler... right thats it I'm off to finish it.

Being able to punch the reporter. Again.
She'd probably sue you for assault. :D

Punching someone three times over the course of several years seems less like something badass and more like...I don't know, abuse? No way the Council'd put up with that kind of bad PR.

Oh, completely forgot my number one wish! (ok, I lie, just thought of this one but it seems so obvious.)

Bioware should make ME3 moddable like NWN and DA:O, with a toolkit for making new planets and missions. I have no idea why neither ME nor ME2 have this but it seems to make so much sense given the naturally divided up star systems you visit. This should be a pure and simple no-brainer.

Wouldn't you think that someone who hasn't finished ME2 would even think to click on this? If they have the game, why would they be even on the site? =p
*to aforementioned gamers* Get going!

1) Return of Wrex, because Grunt died on me =[

2) As opposed to your all-out war of geth vs. Quarian, I want to see my Paragon Shepard team up with the geth (I uploaded the changed virus, fyi) and rachni to take down the Reapers.

Speaking of the Reapers. If they take on the form of the species that is used to create them (explanation for why the Human Reaper looked humanoid), what species were the rest of the Reapers crafted from? Because during the Ilos mission in ME1, I got the impression that the Protheans looked like Zoidbergs- with noodly appendages on their face. So if the other Reapers (or at least Sovereign) look like giant squid, is this where the Protheans went?
EDI says that the Reapers tried to turn the Protheans into a Reaper but they failed. So instead they turned them into the Collectors. Don't get why the Reapers, a race of machines, would turn the Protheans into bugs but whatever. Point is that there is no Prothean reaper. Sovereign was most likely a reaper created by some other ancient race of space squids.

At least they never had enough sense to make a varren Reaper. That'd be the end of us all.

Still doesn't make sense. Illos was one of their man worlds. Why would they cover it in those statues if they weren't of themselves? Besides, none of the prothean technology found in Mass Effect bears any resemblance to Collector technology.

This shouldn't be a spoiler, but technically not everyone has played the first game.

During the beacon video sequences from the first game, you can get quick glimpses at the Protheans. They are indeed the Zoidbergian squid people. Ilos wasn't a pre-Prothean world, it was one of theirs. It's logical to assume that ALL of the buildings and stuff on Ilos were of Prothean design. Maybe the statues were just dedicated to important researchers or something. Or maybe the Protheans were just really ego-centric. Until Bioware tells us, who knows.

Now for the ME3 wishlist:

Space combat

Better planetary exploration, perhaps a mix of unexplored worlds A la ME1 and the sidequests from ME2.

Reunite all surviving squadmembers from the first and second games.

Assemble an army to fight the Reapers.

Negotiate peace between the geth and the quarians.

Have Anderson kick someone's ass.

Find proof to put the Council in their place.

Punch the Illusive Man.

Bring back the Spectre Master Gear weapons.

Bring back the old galaxy map locations. I want to check up on Zhu's Hope and Noveria dammit!

Include a Space Wheel for your Space Hamster.

Repaint the Normandy SR-2 to get rid of all the Cerberus junk.

Get rid of Shepard's limp.

Shorter loading times! That and the "scan for minerals" thing were the most disturbing aspects of the game by far. Oh, and killing those bazillion husks.
