while i understand that you can look up to your respective idols as it were, i fail to see how you can rationalize one manchild's behavior as an example everyone should follow. just because everyone steals doesn't make it the right thing to do.

No you can never be too old for pokemon. The game is way too complicated for a 5 year old to comprehend if you go into EV training. It is easy to pick up I will give it that but it takes time, precision and dedication to make a competitive level team.

I don't think you can be too old for anything, you just reach a point where other people's opinions seem to matter more. Case in point, pokemon. I still play (well, started again at platinum, currently loving soul silver), and I get some scorn from friends and younger family members. And I know some people who would play, but don't because they're worried about being accused of being childish.
And I know a lot of people who are happy to play the GS remakes, because the nostalgia level removes any social stigma!

I've never played the games but the show and movies are always interesting, espeacially the recent ones. Also, is it me or is the series getting slightly more and more grittier?

Pokemon is crack.

While I'm not against crack per se, I'm just saying that you might want to say away if you've managed to say away so far. Because like crack, you never grow out of Pokemon.

I only ever tried playing 2-3 of those games (I can't be sure, it all kind of blends in >.>) and I was never amazed enough to continue playing them. As for the question "Is it for children?", I don't know. Maybe it gets better later on. Under the simple graphics there is some strategy to be had it just wasn't good enough for me. Oh and I always hated (well not hated but was never a fan of) the original anima even as a kid, so that could have played a factor in my feelings towards the game.

NEVER!! Pokemon was one of the greatest gaming experiences and still is years later. If I can continue to find enjoyment from it at my age then I am not too old for it.

While the game is a great all-ages experience, the marketing for it is decidedly focused at children, and that's what makes liking Pokemon past 18 kind of awkward. Don't get me wrong, I like Pokemon and I'm 19, it's just really awkward and not something I would openly do in public.

14 is about the limit,if you're not female.
