I completely agree with M. Bison. Nothing is more terrifying than the famous, "Yes! Yes!" Just encapsulates evil in a monosyllable.

None of my favourite villains made it to the list it appears, including the Chaos Theory one, or General Guba.

See? We can't always get what we want. Put it in verse.

I'd have put Bowser at Number 1. Not for his success rate, but for his classicness. When average people think of a video game, Super Mario Bros is what springs to mind, Mario is the classic videogame hero, so it makes sense that Bowser is the classic game villain.

Kefka was insane. Plus he had a great body count, AND....he kind of wins at the end. I mean, the world is pretty much destroyed. its a Pyrrhic victory for the heroes.

I got into an argument with someone a few days ago. We were debating whether in Mario 1, Mario kills Bowser 8 times, or if the first 7 Bowsers were "fake". Anyone know the answer?

The first 7 Bowsers were fake, they were dummies or decoys, I forget the explanation, but I do remember they were specifically reffered to as fake.

OP. Why isn't Giygas anywhere on the list? Was M. Bison inspired by a nine year-old witnessing a rape scene in a movie? Does Goro have a fetus for a body?

I think SHODAN from System shock 2 should be on that list somewhere. There's really no argument against that villain, since she probably inspired the creation of GLADOS for Portal in some way. That and psychotic megalomania practically oozes out of her creepy ass voice.

Stupid list is stupid. I can think of several villains off the top of my head who are incredible antagonists, as opposed to the bland, stock blobs of nostalgia that this list proposes as "the best".

I always though Jack of Blades was an epic villain, especially in The Lost Chapters, when they changed his voice to make it sound like he smuggled demons into Albion via his throat. While he was by no means a difficult to beat villain (With good enough stats and weapons, you could end his first stage in about two hits and his second stage in not many more), he was still an AWESOME villain.
