Top 200 games of all time: what do you think?

Game Informer's 200th issue had their top 200 games of all time based on how good they were, how influential, etc.

Did you get to check it out? What did you think? Me personally: I was surprised and a little embarrassed to find I have played, owned, and beaten a considerably large number of them.

Well to be honest, That was pretty much what I expected, though Beyond Good and Evil should be higher. Much Higher!

It's actually not as horrific a list as I was expecting. Some good choices on there.

I've beaten/ played 2/3rds of the list.

I am kind of irritated that a few games released in 2009 got on the list. I am not denying that Uncharted 2, Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Infamous are good games, but they have not been out long enough to have any influence in the gaming industry.

After all, its hard to put a number on these things.

But WoW at that high a number is just stupid. I mean, I know all of them are WoW addicts, but seriously.

I dont no if it was just me but im surprised that Red and Blue were on there but yellow wasnt. I mean in terms of influence yellow started the whole pokemon craze, every pokemon game that followed. Also yellow was pretty dam fun if i do say so myself.

Actually the list was pretty terrible. Some of those games are awful and were put in front of masterpieces. Like... Mario Picross or whatever? Why is that above Shadow of the Colossus and Left 4 Dead? That list just makes me angry. And why is Modern Warfare 2 ranked above Call of Duty? That is a lie if I ever heard one. Call of Duty was one of the best games ever created and is demon offspring aren't anywhere near as good (except for United Offensive).

I knew this was a lose as soon as I realised it was from what's practically a Nintendo fansite, there obviously going to pick up on that and post it for the following reason.... The top few(while not bad games) aren't half as good as some of those games and most of them are Nintendo classics.

To behonest if it were me, I'd go for a ScrewAttack-type policy, only one game from each series.

These are the sort of things i think make these lists redundant, nearly every one of the games has a totally different demographic so comparing them is quite silly.

Furthermore HUBILUB what happened? You get your Neo and then get some wrath? Fall from Escapist grace

I searched Mafia (Ctrl + F) and it's not even on the list! Heresy!

Plus, they have fucking Mario and Zelda at the top. I don't trust them already.

The Sands of Time should be higher.

Tetris above HL2?!

Assassins Creed is on the list but not AC2?

The original Splinter Cell is better than Pandora Tomorrow, although I guess it's on for the multiplayer and not singleplayer. Chaos Theory isn't high enough at all.

Luckily this has no impact on anything at all (because it's all wrong, terribly wrong!).
