-Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines
-Deus Ex
-Grim Fandango

Greatest three soundtracks ever, and all three have excellent games to go with them.

Gonna go ahead and break the "rule of three" thing because there's so many different categories for "good" music. Do you mean "pretty" music? Most memorable music? Best mood music, etc.? So I'm just gonna rattle off a few good ones IMHO:

Final Fantasy series (so many games, so much good music)

Katamari Damacy (happy Japanese songs make for great background/driving music except for that Kuru Kuru Rock number from Katamari 2)

.hack series (music is so gorgeous, so relaxing, I actually fell asleep on the couch when I was doing inventory work in one of the towns...yes, you can insert a joke about boring game design here, but I don't care. I still likes it)

Guild Wars/Neverwinter Nights (pretty RPGs, pretty music for both)

Metal Gear Solid series (I'll admit: I learned how awesome the soundtrack was from Smash Brothers Brawl music player, but it still makes my list)

Classic soundtracks:
Zelda series
Mario series
Sonic the Hedgehog series
Tetris!

Half-Life 2 (mostly for its effect, which is to get your adrenaline pumping for a fight)
Ravenholm makes me have trouble sleeping at night. 'Cept for when I bring the rollermine from the scrapyard with me. Then the ambiance may as well be the theme to the Benny Hill show. :D
Anyways, I concur.

Homeworld 2 had nice, violin-entraped haunting feel to it, to refine it's beautiful space opera gameplay.

Any Star Wars game has good music because they never use new music, it's all swag from the movies, which was an awesome score.

Ooh, and Metal Gear Solid! [http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=fcwu3Bi53lw]

seems to be devided between those who have played bioshock and those who didnt vote for it.

its the sounds that made that game what it is.

all MGS sound are "wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. ..wait what was that,, oh it was nothing. .." you get the idea .. never has a game had such repetative annoying sound system.

I didn't like the Halflife 2 music track that much. Too many points where it wasn't there. And to be honest I didn't notice the Bioshock music, so I don't know if it was good or not.

Oh yeah, and nice Ace Rimmer avatar PwnStar.
