Might be a good idea to lead by example.

1. Under Pressure - Queen & David Bowie
2. Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles
3. Sultans of Swing - Dire Strait.

Those are all kind of the same genre, aren't they? Classic rock. I need to expand my horizons a bit.

Hm, it is a bit of a question as to which mood im in.

Still, I think Closer from NIN is one of the best songs ever in a lot of ways.
Then there is a personal, not well known song which I love:
Terra Incognita from Project Pitchfork, a German goth/electro/industrialwhatever band.
Love Song for a Vampire from Annie Lennox makes me cry every time and would be my third choice.

Shit, top 3? Uhhh....hard to really rate the songs that make up the soundtrack of my life. They ebb and flow as the years roll by.

This one probably because it's been a song I return to for encouragement decade after decade. The defiant, optimistic anger in it always makes me feel better. Howling at the moon for a better world.

This song, quite literally kept me alive as a teenager. Some disturbing shit happened when I was younger, and I seriously considered suicide for a while. This song however helped me get over it. The lyrics, and the echoing tones of it, so longing and wistful, helped me find focus in a time of chaos.

This one has a lot of emotion tied to it, about a particular girl I knew when I was younger. Oddly enough, I'm linking this on the day that the person who sang it has apparently died. Golden hair, summer warmth, smoking joints and wondering where I lives would go.

I won't say that these are the "best" in regards to technical quality or anything like that. But these 3 songs probably hold the most personal meaning and depth for me. So they're my top 3.

Only three? For me, that's near impossible... can't I just do my top 3 bands/singers and my top 3 favorite songs for each? Is that allowed?

Though to be honest, it is at it's best when listened to as part of the album, when it becomes absolutely beautiful.

Just the intro, which is just fantastic(lasts about 6 or so minutes)

Ok, here are 3 of my favorite bands, and my top 3 of their songs (lucky thing I made a list for just such an occasion):

Imagine Dragons:
Radioactive
Ready Aim Fire
Who we Are

Linkin Park:
What I've Done
No More Sorrow
Breaking the Habit

Gorillaz:
Feel Good Inc.
El Manana
19-2000

Keep in mind, this is only a fraction of the songs I like, my taste in music is all over the map...

Through the fire and flames by Dragonforce

Sacred worlds by Blind Guardian
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE8btyYiNuc

The Sound of Silence by Disturbed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN8wSwmqjpk

That last one is a cover and... well, what can I say? How often does one get a legitimately good cover of a great older tune from a heavy metal band? That it's Disturbed going so far outside of their usual fare only makes it more awesome!

Only three? God this is difficult...

In no particular order, these are my current top 3:

3. Klavier - Rammstein

2. Paradise Circus - Massive Attack

1. Cry - That Handsome Devil

The tyoe of music I listen to changes all the time though, so I wouldn't really say this is a "definitive" top 3, just my current top 3.
