Dragon Ball Z RPGs
Don't know if you knew, but there was a DBZ RPG for the DS called Attack of the Saiyans, which was developed by Monolith Soft, the developers of Xenoblade Chronicles. So, maybe that will help.

OT: There is a significant lack of Jet Set Radio in this thread. Shameful.

Also:
Tomba!
Diddy Kong Racing (and DKR DS doesn't count)
Psychonauts
Lego Racers
F-Zero
Digimon Rumble Arena

I want more of this. Considering how powerful current consoles are to how powerful the original Playstation was, I'm actually kind of surprised we haven't seen a modern iteration of this. Granted there could be a modern answer to Colony Wars but I haven't seen it so...little help? I want to travel the galaxy at my leisure in a ship I can upgrade and customize. I want to attack and potentially destroy everything and potentially screw myself out of missions by ding so.
OMG. How could I have forgotten this gem? A flight game where you actually had consequences for your actions. Defend the convoy; fail and you won't have that fancy ship or you'll go on a different mission next. The only flight games I've see is those jet fighter games. Why did we abandon the far reaches of space?

1) Suikoden
2) X-Wing / TIE Fighter
3) Secret of Mana (Mana series)
4) Final Fantasy Tactics (with NO "Ivalice Alliance" setting. Just the Ivalice of the original FFT and not that FFTA kiddie shit)
5) Metroid (a real Metroid game; not that tepid and insulting Other M dogshit)

All those Tenchu and Syphon Filter mentions get me fuzzy and warm, those two are my favorite choices.
I throw Road Rash, Final Fight and Bushido Blade into the mix.

I checked it out...and...yeah...this one must have had a very limited printing judging by how much it's worth. Years ago (NES/SNES) it seemed like there were more Dragon Ball RPGs than fighting game.

In no particular order

Star Wars:Rogue Squadron
F-Zero
Actraiser(I'm talking about the original which was a mix of platforming hack n' slash and city sim not the sequel which got rid of the city parts entirely)
Alpha Protocol
Eternal Darkness(I'm hoping Shadow of the Eternals reaches it's crowdfunding goals but unfortunately it's looking doubtful)

Killer Instinct (yeah right)
Seeing as Microsoft recently renewed the trademark and have hinted that Rare are working on one of their older IP's I'd say there's a definite possibility of a new KI(or a HD remake at the very least)

3. Beyond Good and Evil, why this never got a sequal is beyond me.
Quite simple really.Despite being an excellent game it sold piss poorly.Supposedly it only managed around 500,000 sales combined on PS2,Gamecube and Xbox which is terrible for a multiplatform title

1. F-Zero; F-Zero GX is one of my favorite games of all time, this series didn't have an entry on the Wii, so it really needs a proper entry on the Wii U.
2. Baten Kaitos; Admittedly I only ever played Origins, and I still have yet to getting around to finishing it. But I just loved that game so goddamn much! I really want to see a continuation of that series.
3. Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja; This wasn't the greatest series in the world. Not by long shot. But it made me laugh and I enjoyed it, so I'd love to see another entry in the series.
4. Bomberman; I've been thinking about Bomberman a lot lately for some reason. I really loved the N64 and Gamecube versions of the game, so I'd love to see another one in that vein.
5. Kid Icarus; admittedly this one is cheating a little since Kid Icarus just got it's first sequel in more than 20 years less than a year ago. But Uprising was amazing and I had heard that they don't want to do another sequel which they need to do because that game was amazing and I loved the characters and now I must have more of them!

I know every time one of these lists comes up I always bring up Baten Kaitos and F-Zero. But those are two of my favorite games of all time, and neither has had a new game made in their series since the GameCube. And I just find that incredibly sad. I really hope a new F-Zero and a new Baten Kaitos come out for the Wii U or 3DS. I would really like that.

Edit: it's cool to see I'm not the only one who wants an F-Zero sequel. I've just noticed at least two other people in this thread who agree! That's exciting.

Well, the topic is kinda self-explanatory. There are lots of wonderful series put under ground by strange publishers or any other circumstances. What personally I hope to get from this topic is lots of obscure yet nice forgotten titles )

My list:

5. Space Rangers
This game really needs Part 3. Dominators were nearly perfect procedurally generated humporous space adventure/RPG, and it was soooo close to be really perfect!..
PS And yes, there were recent Space Rangers 2 HD, but seriously, it's not what I mean )
O___o
just played the HD version last year, and damn the game is fun but gets FUCKING ANNOYING with those god damn pirates trolling around a planet (landing/taking off every other turn until another pirate comes along and then they gang bang you)

then again i could've been playing it wrong/horribly

OT:

star wars: podracers- anyone who has played this game KNOWS it needs a fucking update/2nd one, so much fun

republic commando- cliffhanger bullshit ending to an awesome game

i'm sure there are plenty more i'm drawing blanks on at the moment
