This infamous romantic comedy set in a world filled with large, muscular men gained massive following with both male and female audiences for combining tales of homosexual relationships trying to be formed in a world not ready to accept them juxtaposed with men who answer their problems with their firsts. The greatness and influence too close to set one above the other, these twin science fiction series set the bar for animated adventures in space and started the 1990's anime trend of space as the setting for series. Many Hollywood live action movies and television series where written or directed by people sitting these two series as inspiration for brining wonder about the universe into their minds. Both series are currently being made into live action movies set to be directed by Michael Bay and Adam Sandler for Star Trek and Star Wars respectively.

#3: Who's Line is it Anyway?
Initially a financial failure which lead to cancellation, this ground braking spy thriller was saved in syndication as rating of reruns rose over the years and DVD sales promptly allowed for a new, still ongoing animated series of the adventures of a small band of misfits to grace our televisions. The writing is considered almost revolutionary in its balance of heavy drama interspersed with moments of levity, making no one question the series dominating the Golden Globs three years running.

#2: Cory in the House
Considered by many to be the greatest anime of all time, and with good reason, this long running children's series explores many of themes and ideas such as racism, sexism, friendship, and really every moral message children are taught from a young age, influencing a generation and now a second. Though initially controversial in the premise of a starving Cambodian child begin kidnapped by the President of the United States for a social experiment, the actual series itself is much more subdued then the premise sets up, and for the better.

#1: Seinfeld
The anime that started it all for multiple genre, this series popularized both the Moe and the Slice-of-Life genre within the industry, and its impact can not be understated. Inarguably the most influential anime series of all time, this series about the day-to-day lives of a young group of high school students has given us countless adventures which have stood the test of time. One may consider the popularization of Moe and Slice-of-Life to be a negative, but in this Otaku's eyes it's all kawaii desu ne.
