Didn't see a song you were hoping for in my last list? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.270713-Top-Ten-Songs-Special-Final-Boss-Themes] Don't lose hope yet! At the beginning of each list, I'll put honorable mentions that either got barely beaten out of a spot or that I just forgot about.
This one is basically a Type 1, and I didn't have any more room. Maybe I should've done a separate list for each type...
Of course. Why wouldn't it be here?
I shouldn't have to say anything.

Okay, School just got out last Friday. That's why I haven't been doing anything. I've been busy staying up until 1 basically every morning finishing everything and studying for exams. But now that's over. It still doesn't feel like it, but I'm finally free again, and that means this series will probably start up again. I've said this before, though, and I usually get that one out and then go another couple months with nothing. I'll try. I'm working with a couple people on a film that may take up most of my summer, but I'll still try.

So, this one. These, as you might ahve seen already, aren't video game music. Recently, my taste in music has become... well, it's gotten a lot broader than it ever has. I'm still appreciate music only for the melody, unless the lyrics are humorous (I don't care about political commentary or anything like that in lyrics. When that one person on Facebook posts cryptic song lyrics that are supposed to ahve a deep meaning, I facepalm so hard). And there are a lot of songs out there in genres I don't necessarily like that have some kickass sounds. This is for those songs.

Also, I'm sorry this is only five songs, but that's really all I could find.

Disclaimer: Please excuse me if I call a song by the wrong genre. First, I'm not experienced enough with this kind of music to be right all the time, and second, I don't really care.

Number Five (5):
"Tribute" by Tenacious D

Yeah, of course. First, the video has a bit of a long intro, but if you haven't seen it before it's worth it. So I actually saw The Pick of Destiny. It was okay. Some of the music was pretty good. And then one of my friends showed this to me, and I actually liked it a lot. It's like those classic epic rock ballads but less epic and less like a ballad and more like Jack Black being weird. But being weird TO GOOD MUSIC. Pretty good. Sure.

Number Four (4):
"Live and Learn" from Sonic Adventure 2

Well, it's this again. If you've been following this series (which you haven't) you would've seen that this one snuck up on my while I was putting the Sonic list together, and it ended up at the number one spot. So... I don't know why I like this one at all. The melody isn't really that great, but it gets to me somehow. Not sure how. It does whatever it does good enough to be here, though.

Number Three (3):
"I'm on a Boat" by The Lonely Island

Damn rap-like hip-hop. Hate it. Haven't heard a SINGLE rap-like hip-hop song I liked until the lovely people from SNL made this. And I like it because it's a parody. It takes everything I hate about rap-like hip-hop and turns it on itself, with T-Pain's autotune and the completely ridiculous lyrics. Motherf**ker.

Number Two (2):
"Club Can't Handle Me" by Flo Rida

Oh god, what am I doing? A hip-hop song from last year? By Flo Rida? Flo Rida? I don't know. The chorus is just divine. I don't know what it is, maybe it's that female voice. Probably. I actually quite like the intro too, but that's just a little thing. I think some of it may be because I have some good memories associated with it. I was practicing with a tennis team over last summer and we had a radio going basically the whole time, so a lot of the great feelings from then are stored in this song. That's most of it, I think.

Number One (1): (The formatting isn't working for some reason...)
"Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)" by Cobra Starship

Excuse me? Where the hell did this come from? I mean really. What is going on with me? WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?! How did this get here... I don't even know. As I'm writing this, right after putting the list together, I don't know why I put this here. Well, I'll start with what I like. First, dat chorus. That is amazing. Everything about it is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT to me. The female singer (again), that harmony in the third line with the male singer, and of course everything behind it with all that fast paced percussion and the electric guitar that plays more for rhythm. The melody is... it's... I love it. The rest of the song is good enough, the vocals are clean and thje beat is pretty good I guess. It all feels a bit birght, not like most of the alternative rock you hear. Oh, just checked Wikipedia, apparently this is "dance rock". I think I have a new genre I need to check out. Well, the chorus in this makes me feel it. That usually doesn't happen. Like, basically never. I don't get all deep and emotional, but I feel it. And it feels pretty damn good. So don't look for any specifics from me or analyzation of all the methods put into it, because this is all I know. I really, really f**king love it.

Well, thanks again for reading. Sorry about BSing another list of five. There's not really much else to say. Join the user group, I guess? Maybe post in here if you know songs I might like. I'm always looking for more things to sneak up on me like this. Alright, hopefully I'll see you soon this time.

I agree, good songs, all of them.

Though I will admit, I got into the Flo Rida song because of the Step Up 3 trailers

Shut it

Haha, love Live and Learn. I totally agree. I have no idea why I like it either. It just has major nostalgia I guess.

@ Number 2

I feel the same way about Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous Girl.

Fun to read/listen!
