3. Artemis Fowl- Last but not least is Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series, which mixes magic and technology together for an enjoyable story.
Wow, no one I know reads this. Nice to know I found someone else.

Mine:

1) Artemis Fowl

2) Bleach

3) Sgt. Frog

4) Galaxy Angel

I know that that's four, but Art. Fowl and Bleach are tied for 1st.

I'm gonna have to go with from 3 to 1.

The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
The Repairman Jack Series/the Adversary Cycle by F. Paul Wilson
The Cthulhu Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft

And I'll even put the three series that I disliked the most, just to round it out.

Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
The last two books in A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin
The Stand by Stephen King

2. The Edge Chronicles: The writing is beautiful, the story is beautiful, the characters have so much depth you could chuck in a pebble and finish the New York Times crossword ultra super duper 7000th annual amazing edition before you could even have it go halfway. The Author, (whose name I can never remember) creates an entirely diffirent world, with entire diffirent customs and a new history, and throughout the series, you can see that history grow. Oh, and it has the occasional picture, but if you're going to let that deter you, than you should go die in a hole.
There are so many great book series I couldn't pick a 2 and a 3, but this would absolutley make this my number 1. The most original world I have ever read about, better than any movie or video game world. Great characters, great mythos, and after I've finished reading any one of the books in the series, I get a unique feeling I don't ascocaite with anything else. I relate to the characters more than any characters in other books, movies, or video games. Can't say enough how much I reccomend these books to other people.

*Takes breath*

Man they're awesome.

(On a side note, I just had an awesome thought. How great an RPG/MMO would these books make?!)
*sobs* I've finally found you! Another one of my own kind! What an emotional moment!

And they would make a great MMO or RPG if they were done right. But they wouldn't, because people are shit.

1: I hate to sound generic, but I actually do very much enjoy the Harry Potter series. It's an easily digestible read, it's entertaining, and perhaps most significantly, it's what got me into reading books to begin with.

2: Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. I love Brandon Sanderson's books, because, while they revolve around magic, the magic is never the generic spell casting witchcraft and wizardry. In Elantris, a society of people reached apotheosis by having their city in the midst of a large symbol, which was essential to the symbol based magic of the world. In Warbreaker, their magic is determined by their Breath, and how much of it they have. More interestingly is the way he uses color in the book, making the printed pages appear like rainbows.

3: The Halo books.
These may very well have been what got me into gaming. They're an excellent read, my personal favorite being the Fall of Reach, which details the Spartan-II program through the eyes of John-117. This is irrelevant to the quality of the novel itself, but the copy I have is very tattered, and really should be replaced, but I can't bring myself to do it. After all, it's tattered because of my own constant reading. The pages are yellowed, and the scent they give off is really pleasing.

I cant really say I have a favorite, its more or less whatever i'm reading at the time, but these are the ones I had the best time with.

The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy- Douglas Adam is my favorite aurthor because of this series. The humor is awesome, and always put a smile on my face.

The Chronicles of the King Rolen's Kin- The world is interesting, I actually like the main character, and the cover art is cool.

Night Angle trilogy- Pretty much the same reason as stated above
