Torment: Tides of Numenera [http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera]
The Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter has just hit 4 Million dollars in KS funds (and another 127K with Pay Pal), meaning that it has taken the record away from Project Eternity for the most funded video game in KS history.
With four and a half hours left to go, Torment: Tides of Numenera has blown past 4 million dollars and it shows no sign of slowing down.
The games industry has been moving away from top-down isometric RPGs with a focus on dialogue and the use of so called 2.5D graphics. And yet, a KS for just such a game has broken all previous KS records for video game crowd-funding. Will this send a message to AAA developers? Or will isometric RPGs in 2.5D remain relegated to KS funded indy projects?
Either way, congratulations to inXile games.
