Was tempted to support this but didnt in the end however I have recently purchased Planescape Torment and am cautiously enjoying it although I turned the combat right down because I found it shit.

This game wont even start development until Wasteland is finished though am I correct in that? well regardless I have zero interest in wasteland but depending on how I feel when finishing Planescape I may purchase this when its released same with shroud of the avatar they both have me mildly intrigued.

Combat in PS:T tends to be its weakest point, but you're probably sick of hearing that at this point. I had a good amount of fun during my early runs with a high-CON and STR fighter that just bashed things to pieces with gauntlets, but then again I was around ten years old at that time. My battle strategies consisted mainly of gathering all my dudes and pressing 'attack.' Worked out fine for me, for what it's worth. Is combat really proving an obstacle, or is it just not fun for you?

You're not quite on the money there, I believe, if I've read the dev posts right. The main reason for the Kickstarter being organised now was so that the artists and writers, who are mostly done with Wasteland 2, could already start pre-production. Full crunch mode on programming etc. obviously doesn't start until after Wasteland 2 is finished, but they may also start drafting up the game and combat systems that they don't have already. I suppose that depending on your definition of 'development,' it either is or isn't, then.

I can't see how you'd still end up disliking the game if you're cautiously enjoying it, but then I am a rabid fanboy, and for what it's worth - if you should decide to buy the game soon - PayPal donations/preorders made before the end of April still count towards the final stretch goal of expanding the game and adding a stronghold of some kind (airship, pocket dimension, something).

At any rate, do enjoy the game, and let us know what you think when you finish it!

Its not an obstacle especially as like I said I soon dropped it down to the lowest setting its just that I find it dull and boring and so I want it out of the way. I have never played Torment before but I have played other games using the same kind of battle system and usually it goes from frustratingly difficult to ridiculously easy neither of which I enjoy. What I am enjoying are the characters, dialogue and setting. Also I have gone more towards wisdom and intelligence both because I have heard it provides more dialogue options which I like and also because I am going for a mage build as I am sick of playing fighters even though they are usually a simple and effective build in these games. Also I find you usually get a thief so there is no point rolling one I expect that is the same here but not 100% sure on that.

Ah ok thanks for clearing that up as I said I am cautiously enjoying it but I wont know until the end there could be some part that makes me go well fuck this thats what happened in Arcanum again it was the combat I struggled at first in that and then found the fireball spell and mauled everyone usually in one click and if that failed I had disintegrate and the harm spell which made things pathetically easy and they kept throwing me into combat instead of letting me enjoy the story I am hoping that dosent happen in Torment hence why I turned it down so I can get through the combat bits asap.

I may still donate but we will see, to many games and so little time.
