Ahahah, oh gods I saw that video. The game was so bad I was crying my eyes out laughing.
I actually showed my little brother a "highlight reel" of some of the worst glitches, voice acting and animations in the game. His respone?

He just made that face the entire video through.

They don't seem to be any better at PR than they are at making games.
I'm thoroughly convinced that the PR department is the biggest grindstone around game developments neck today. Microsoft keeps saying stupid shit, EA can't open their mouth without ledging a foot in there, etc, etc.

It's all really rather sad.

On the positive side, it seems like FUN aren't responsible for this entire clusterfuck. Rather, someone inside the company acted on his own to shut down TBs videos. Granted, wheter this is true or not, it'll still leave a black stain on the companys image.

Okay, looks like FUN may well be responsible for this, judging by this picture of an email/message TB received from them.

Either that or this Jasmine person is the one that did it =P

Although it might all be "photoshop games" XD

Well if the email response was stupid, then the Twitter reply accusing Totalbiscuit of playing with Photoshop was downright retarded.

It looks more and more likely that it wasn't a troll who issued the takedown notice.

Lets hope TB really goes to town on them.

Their Twitter account is run by a fucking moron.
I'm actually in shock at how little they care they could be extradited to the US, tried for DMCA violations then throw in jail.

Are you kidding? Extradition over some stupid US copyright law? I don't know where's that guy from, but I doubt there's a country in the whole world willing to suck so much dick. Are you even aware that extradition requires the act to constitute a crime at the state where the subject is located at?

I have both of their twitter accounts open waiting for a (1) to pop up on either one so I can continue laughing my ass of at this one.

I hope FUN get what's coming to them. They sure as hell deserve it.

Okay fine, you're probably right; but these jokers are making me really angry.
No, I don't know extradition laws. I'm not even American, by the way.
That said, it's not like international law ever stopped America before.

They're holding his channel hostage (one more claim will shut down his account) and claiming someone (they seem to think it was EA) blackmailed him to say bad things about their game, which they gave him a review code for. Then claimed the emails proving this were photoshopped. Then the recent video proving they weren't photoshopped they're just playing dumb.

Looking their emails with Zooc, so far it looks like the Devs might actually win this one. They basically said "we have hardcore lawyers, come at me bro".

TB makes enough money to where he can hire one as well, and if this is anything like how the last incident like this was and TB has documentation then the courts will rule with him because they gave the rights to do so, not to mention that the Fair Use Act of 1976 protects criticism by reviewers.

After reading their twitter feed, I'm 100% on the side of Total Biscuit. IF the claim WASN'T made by FUN creators, he would've simply turned this into more ammunition for the terrible Youtube Copyright system. Photoshopping an email from FUN would do literally NOTHING for him.

I have no sympathy for when their company goes under for the scummy decisions they've made and their terrible game.

And this is why you make sure you get good PR staff who give a clear, calm response. A company acting like a hyperactive hysterical child is only going to create a bigger shitstorm for itself. Fun is looking like a company where the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing (which would also explain the bad game) and it's likely this which is the cause of most of its problems.

I'm available for a resonable price fyi Fun if you're reading, all you'd have to do is make some lovely gifs for my avatar. I await your call.

I also think that was a lot of bravado and chest puffing. They're a small indie studio. I really doubt they're rolling in cash like they think.

Who the hell is running things over at FUN?
Agreed. I'm in shock. It's like the decided to hire a belligerent 14 year old kid with a loose grasp of English to manage their PR.

Whoever operates that twitter sure knows how not to deal with totally founded criticism. Accusing TB of faking the email is utterly stupid. His openness and honestly is what he does. Not to mention he has the resources to fight this every step of the way (and the EFF would probably help if he didn't). I laughed like a maniac when I saw this news.

I'm not sure it is actually bad PR. The people who watch the videos - us, essentially - are the people who know about the takedown notices, except we wouldn't have bought it anyway because we know what total shit it is. Unless they were going to revolutionarily improve the game, in which case they have lost their chance at TB then doing a video saying "Hey, it isn't shit any more, so buy it" where now he probably will not do any such thing were that to happen, or at the very least wouldn't be glowing with praise and will probably mention that they were bastards earlier.

It becomes bad PR when the video TB inevitably makes about the incident gets 10x the views his critique did, reaching an extremely wide audience. That's what happened with D1GI and it destroyed them.

Latest development, Zooc uploaded this.
That's one way to debunk baseless accusations.

Well, TB said Polaris is handling it now.

So if they want to go to court with Maker Studios (which Time Warner has a controlling share in), then I think they're going to have a pretty bad day.
