There are a lot of gams where you have to make choices that affect the outcome of the games. Sometimes it's minor, sometimes it inolves thousands of lives. So I ask you escapst to remeber the toughest decision you've had to make in a game and as a bonus question, do you regret it?

My example was in Mass effect 2.

At the end of mordin's loyalty mission you're faced with a choice about what to do with the genophage reseach. I chose to hold onto the research but not to immediatily go figuring out a cure. I sometimes wonder if I should've just cured the Krogan genophage, but at least it's safer this way.

Um... I know that many of you say this is stupid, but I think it was The Shark Scene in Heavy Rain. I really felt for the characters, even if they weren't real. That scene was a masterpiece in my opinion.

None. I'll save beforehand and watch both. The end result I like more is the one I'll stick with.

I don't usually do it, though. As the results tend to be black and white, making the results clear to anyone.

That's how I handle MORAL choices. Now, about gameplay choices...Those are tough.

My starter Pokemon, class, etc. That choice sticks with you for the next few dozen hours. It determines how you fight for the whole game.

I guess that doesn't really defeat the purpose, but isn't the idea to not know all the consequences and part of the fun is watching the decision you make unfold and affect those around you?

I don't feel like two playthroughs in longer games like Dragon Age. And I'm not much of a "role player". In shorter games like Mass Effect, I'll play twice.

Wing Commander 3, go after the cowardly traitor and vape him down, or go back to help defend the ship and save your friends. Seriously, I sounded like John Cleese in Fawlty Towers screaming at the finally revealed traitor.

What class to choose in a tough round of TF2 when the spy has been taken. I love being the spy it's pretty much my top character in that game.

Private realms, man.

That being said, probably the toughest decision is deciding whether to let
Loghain to become a Grey Warden, but Alistair would leave.

Toughest decision would be tied by two big choices at the end of Dragon Age: Origins.

Firstly the choice of who to make the ruler of Denerim. Anora is experienced but doesn't care about tradition while Alistair is the rightful heir and would be a kind King... but doesn't want to be king. Sure you can get them to have a political marriage but then I felt like I was putting Alistair in a position where he was having the chance of a normal life being taken from him.

Then of course there's Morrigans offer of a child. You either accept and make sure you or Alistair won't die, but at the cost of having some old god baby being raised by Morrigan and who knows what kind of chaos they plan on causing.

For both of these I seriously sat there for two minutes not sure what to do. Neither option was "the best".... and I loved it. Thankyou Bioware for showing games do have the potential to present ambiguous moral choices.

Oddly enough, what to name my character in RPGs has always been a tough decision for me. I don't really know why.

Throwing another one in there...
Near the end of Awakening, when you have to decide essentially whether to save the city of Amaranthine or the Keep. In both cases many innocent lives are in the balance. In the end I chose to trust my friends at the Keep to protect it and save the city, but it had me thinking for a couple minutes on that one. It certainly wasn't a no-brainer.

Heavy Rain had many of these, but the most difficult one was probably

If you were going to cut off your finger

I did it.

Funnily enough it was in Bioshock 2, when you're given the choice of killing the chap in the jar (his name escapes me) or letting him live. It was quite shocking how many different sides there were to the moral dilemma, and took quite a while to make a decision.

I chose the money I regret not reviving my dog cause without it you can't complete a quest.
