That goes for a great deal of games, but it enhances the experience, just like it did in Resident Evil 4. No game can't be done without Wii Remote or motion control usage, but the fact that you said it improves the experience led me to believe that you meant that and not something that needs the Wii remote in order to function.
Well my opinion on the matter is if it can be done without the wii-mote controls than the option should be available to do so.

For example Meteos (DS game not wii but still), you can choose to move the peices by either lining up a cursor and pressing a button, or by using the touch screen. That way it dosen't feel forced.
To be honest though, if you aren't going to push for motion control from the ground up on a console that centres on motion control and on games that can benefit greatly from it, then what's the point? Some games you could say should have an alternate control option, but when people say '*insert fps here* should have a regular control scheme' I just think 'get one of the other consoles if you want such a game with a regular control scheme on an FPS'. Fair enough some but not most.

The SIXAXIS is implemented as a secondary feature in PS3 gaming, that's why it is optional for the most part in their games (save for flower).

True but there are examples of times where it was nesesary to use it. It just seems that alot of these examples feel forced and thus fall into the shoe-horned catagoy.

Gimmicky? Sure. But the console's a Nintendo, I would have thought you knew what you were getting into.
Er. What do you mean by that? Apart from the DS, Wii, and the Virtua Boy I can't think of any nintendo system that is marketed on gimmiks.
