So with the slowly approaching Injustice: Gods Among Us release date has anyone decided on who they are maining/subbing in terms of characters to be chosen? The roster has a pretty decent selection of 24 characters, each thus far looking quite in depth. I'm still a bit shaky on this whole "use the arena as a weapon" gimmick, not because of the gimmick itself but, more the fact that any team of Ed Boon's has not had success with it in the past.

Check the 3D Mortal Kombat games for reference. However with MK9 being a fabulous addition to my fighting game collection, I figured why not try to expand my reach into Injustice. Being a big DC fan, I think this game is right up any DC fandom's ally. It has a unique story and we'll finally get an in game "Super Man vs Bat Man" throwdown. It's been long overdue for one to pan out in motion for a more universal audience, rather than in a comic strip or animated feature. Although this time around I don't think Super man will be holding anything back.

But the point of this post is to check if anyone would be up for a "Xbox Live Tournament" using this game. To try and meet some new folks and go into Injustice the game with a community so to speak. Also a good time to sit back and potentially have some good laughs.

Any one on the fence about the game however should know that no other fighter handles like Injustice. The blocking system is a bit clunky, but the combos are ultra flashy and have a consistent flow to them. I suppose that'll sum up the post, but as far as the game goes. It should be a thrill-ride to remember for time to come.

The tournament details will come out soon enough and sign-ups will be hosted HERE [http://challonge.com/InjusticeXBL/].

I am on the fence to be honest I have never been a fan of Mortal Kombat but MK9 had a fun as hell story mode and the challenge tower was also good as for the actual fighting it was the best in the entire history of the Mortal Kombat games imo but coming from me that dosent mean a lot as I have only played 1,2 and Deadly Alliance (and 9 obv) but it was still behind a lot of other fighting games for me, the only one I thought was worse was Arcana hearts which I actually thought was pretty shit MK9 was not shit just it wasnt very good imo compared to the competition.

My main gripe with MK9 was the seemingly stiff animation of characters and the ugly character models and from what I have seen and played of injustice it seems like its the same on this front although the play has been tweaked it feels like. Combat can be very top start as well because of this yes you can get a flow going just like you could in mortal kombat but I dont know it just dosent look right to me and really bugs me in the same sorta way the art bugged me in Street Fighter 4 things just look off.

Ok whine over I am still intrigued by this game as I said the last MK game was actually enjoyable for a while and the demo of Injustice has been reasonably fun the one thing that would have got me to purchase the game day one would be the inclusion of Lady Shiva but it was not to be maybe she will be DLC. TBH I have just purchased and am loving Darkstalkers resurrection atm and next month Persona 4 Arena comes out (finally after only 9 months delay or so) so I think I may give this a miss and just wait until the komplete edition gets released with those DLC characters.

However I am expecting it to sell well and then for loads of casuals to drop it like they usually do which means loads of second hand copies hopefully pretty cheap pretty soon. Not sure who I would main but it would be between Ares, Killer Frost, Joker, Hawkgirl and Harley Quinn most likely.

I will definitely get the game sometime however I get most fighting games, in fact with the exception of MVC3 vanilla I cant think of a fighting game that has been localised I havent got this gen....ok except JoJos and Marvel vs Capcom origins but I may get those sometime.

Looks alright. The only two fighting games I could ever get into was Street Fighter II on the SNES. And Soul Caliber IV, for the custom character creator. Does Injustice have something like that? Making your own hero or villain, that would be interesting to me.
As far as I am aware no it dosent and I would be surprised if I was wrong, as an aside if you liked the character creator in SCIV its much better in SCV which is good as they took out some of the iconic characters and reskinned them with generally unlikeable alternatives but the online and fighting is improved in V single player features are less however I love the SC series and was so pissed they rushed out V it has the hallmarks of greatness but as it is its just good overall prettyy cheap now though.

As for SFII on the SNES was it turbo edition? I would imagine so but not 100% sure anyway that was a fantastic game and what got me into fighters but I would recommend checking out Darkstalkers Resurrection on Xbox Live or PSN theres a free demo I had never played it before as the games never seemed to materialise over here but damn if Darkstalkers 3 isnt the most fun I have had with a 2D fighter in an age for me its up there with SFII Turbo and I dont say that lightly it has combos but not stupidly long ones its usually a few hits. Make sure to play it on turbo though as it was intended, Darkstalkers 2 is also included but isnt as good imo.

Nah, wasn't Turbo. Just plain ol' World Warrior version. Never played Darkstalkers before, I'll have to check it out.
Oh you got the earlier one then, I think that was the one that had Guiles ridiculous FP combo that would kill you in two uses and generally made you dizzy after one use anyway so it was instant K.O if it hit you damn I hated Guile then.

Yeah definitely still recommend Darkstalkers though as I said I had never played it before either and going back to some old games usually left me slightly disappointed such as with CVS2 for example I swear it was better back in the day :( but with Darkstalkers 3 I was hugely impressed 2 not so much. The downside is ofc that I get bodied online but its still fun.

Oh and pick up SF2 turbo for the SNES its better than world warrior :)

Personally for me it is just a very differentiated fighting system that will be completely different. I can respect a company trying something new, while still keeping the DNA of their past works. I wish games like Call of Duty and other rehashed regurgitation would follow this trend.

As far as character creators, no. That would imply making a custom move set and things of that nature. In a 2D fighting game, if a player is allowed to select from all the moves in the game, its guaranteed to be broken. It works in 3D games due to parry/side step/buttons designed for counters and another plethora of tools at the player's disposal to get out. And since in 3D the juggles are not nearly as long and 3D games aren't known for loops and easy resets.

I plan on getting the game close to when I'm having my birthday party, and I've been making the joke that everyone is going to be destroyed by Aquaman.

Given what I've seen in the videos posted around the internet. I wouldn't doubt Aquaman has enough in game tools to wreck the whole roster lol.

Oh wouldn't it just be HILARIOUS if Aquaman was discovered to be Broken Tier overpowered? I think he might just be my trollpick for when I want to humiliate the scrubs because they lost to Aquaman :D

OT: I will be getting it, primarily just to tide me over until P4A FINALLY makes an appearance in the EU. Who knows, maybe it will actually turn out to be good? Inb4 everyone mains Batman because, well, Batman. I like ArkSys and Capcom fighting games over the MK style ones though. I mean, in terms of Swag, the MK style of games is kind of lacking compared to Capcom and ArkSys games.

As an example. That's only the SECOND best swag move in BB as well.

I am so glad i'm inherently good at switching between control schemes. Going between BlazBlue, UMVC3 and Injustice would ruin me otherwise. I will still lose matches because you can't block in the air in Injustice and blocking in the air is Easy Mode Blocking in UMVC3 and BB :/

Someone I can play BB: Chrono Phantasma with and someone who rocks Persona 4 Arena? Why are you not a contact yet? Also in Blazblue if we are going to talk "Swag" its all about Arakune. Seriously he has a Kool-Aid Cannon on his back.

But in all seriousness I think Injustice will be able to do a lot of things better than the previous MK. So I do think it'll be a solid game and one to look forward to most definitely.

As far as the Capcom games go. I don't think I can buy another until their business practices tone down the B.S. meter just a smidgen.
