Still the threat is always there.
I hope they don't. It would completely ruin the ending of the third film
I mean, it wasn't just the fact that Andy was saying goodbye to them - we (or those of us who grew up with Toy Story) are saying goodbye too! A fourth film would just counter this and rend it meaningless.

You could read an entirely different meaning into the ending.

The passing of the toys to a younger generation could be interpreted as passing the franchise to younger generations for their viewing futures

Oh God I hope not. I guess the younger generation would like it, but they would be turning away a lot of the older (us) Toy Story fans, and would therefore lose respect for Pixar overall...
I think Toy Story should be over and done with while they're ahead. Way ahead. But not so far ahead that they couldn't trip on the stone of treachery and join the likes of Spider Man 3

I think that the series ended perfectly. The only other way they could have done it without being so heartwarming and sad is if they put the toys in the attic. Wait, that would have made it sad, but they would have been with their owner, who was too old to appreciate them now that he had outgrown them.

But saying that, at the end it seems he still had fun with them, but not as much fun as that girl would have.

The ending was perfect and made me and two of my friends shed a tear, and we're all guys!

Pixar, don't screw with us, please. Fanboys can get dangerous.

Guys guys guys... Let's all remember who we're talking about here. This is freakin' Pixar. These guys don't make a sequel to anything unless they have an awesome Idea that relates to the story (Which is what they said in the Behind the Scenes of Toy Story 2). As much as TS feels complete to me, they can expand so much with their new location and new friends. Plus, this is still a rumor, so let's just all relax.

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree completely, it doesn't need one and I confessingly teared up badly during the ending and it was beautiful. Was just stating that it doesn't mean they're going into development or anything, studios just like to have everyone on standby. If they did announce a fourth years from now I'd be good with it, I always trust them to deliver especially after 3 was so brilliant.

Pixar isn't stupid, and they certainly don't milk their franchises... Until now, perhaps.
My biggest problem with the article is that out of all the great Pixar films, they decided to make a sequel to Cars!
Seriously, I think that was easily the weakest Pixar film, and I've seen all of them except Wall-E.
Why not make a sequel to The Incredibles- That sort of ended on a cliff-hanger anyway...

They carried the story on in a game apparently, The Incredibles - Rise of the Underminer. Never played it so no idea how easy it would be to adapt to screen.

It could just be an episodic series or a short film. I doubt Pixar would make another sequel after how TS3 ended, and certainly not this soon.

I'm gonna say the same thing I said about the Shrek movies: Just let it die.

No... No, they can't do that. I think they clearly detailed in the the contract made with me when I saw the first movie- "...and the Company (Pixar) may not ruin, cheapen or in any other way fuck up the series with obligatory, extraneous money-grabs..."
Put another way, PLEASE, Pixar, don't do this!
