Yeah, that source seems super-legit. "Rumor: Toy Story 4 confirmed!" Well, if it's a rumor, then it hasn't really been confirmed, now has it? And I like the part where they list how it's trending on Twitter, as if that's some kind of credential.

Seriously though, they shouldn't make Toy Story 4. It is LITERALLY impossible for the series to get a better ending then the one it already has. I realize that normally, I would've just abused the word "literally". But Toy Story 3 is the exception proving that particular rule.

Look at the Pirates of the Caribbean series.
See the third film? See how perfectly it wraps the entire trilogy up? See the quality of the sequel that came right after that?

Come on, Pixar, you've got tons of original ideas still yet to be used. Go back to being original, for Steve's sake.

This actually looks a pretty long way from 'confirmed', that source looks like it needs to be taken with a mountain of salt. If it was, I wouldn't be too worried- I have faith in Pixar.

A little bit of both. I look forward to seeing what Pixar does, if they're doing anything, but I'm a bit cautious at the same time.

I thought they wrapped up things nicely with the third movie.

Movie #1 - One toy thinks he's unique.
Movie #2 - The other toy discovers he's really unique.
Movie #3 - Both become obsolete.

Where do we take it from there?

Aside from money (which when pixar needs it pumps out a cars sequel, not shits on an established and loved story [monsters inc excluded cause monster high isnt out yet]), I dont see the need for a fourth. the third ended thw ay the series needed ending. whats the story going to be, Andy is 40 years old and turns into the guy from toy story 2? or he gives them to his kids so the cycle can live on.

Toy Story-I can tell that you've never been true to me
Pixar I can smell that you're acting so fearfully
I can hear what you're hoping I want to hear
I can feel the alarm bells are ringing in me
I can watch but I know I won't feel a thing
I can pray but I know you commit a sin
I can sense now it's all become clear to see
You're no good and you mean no good
Treacherously!

The mere concept of a Toy Story 4 is an abomination.

Toy Story should remain a trilogy. What's left? The toys are in new hands; all I can see this being is a rehash of stories already told.

This trilogy of films covered a lot of major themes or ideas, including but not limited to: growing up, delusions of grandeur, abuse, identity crisis, abandonment, being replaced, mortality and the idea of immortality, loyalty and betrayal, passing the torch and, of course, love.

A fourth film will just seem forced.

I'm sure they're keeping their options open, but personally I think it's too soon to be talking about Toy Story 4. They dropped an emotional bombshell on us just a couple years ago that closed the major overall arc of the story. There's been about 5 years between each Toy Story movie so far, and while I would agree that an ending could be seen as a new beginning, they'd have to have a damn good reason to go back to the franchise.

Personally, as much as I have enjoyed all the Toy Story movies, I'd much rather see Pixar keep up with the original concepts. I'm super-jazzed for Inside Out in 2015. And this thing [http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2012/04/pixar-d%C3%ADa-de-los-muertos-film.html] they apparently sort of announced last year.

Pixar is too artistically sensible to make a Toy Story 4, they've said they only make sequels if they think there's a worthy story to tell in doing so.

Unless they move in a completely new direction and do something very creative and unexpected to set it apart from the others, I don't see how this could not end up being a tired rehash in which case Pixar wouldn't make it.

Then again, they did make Cars 2, so what do I know.

Toy Story was about the fear of change.

Toy Story 2 was about the ever-approaching nature of death.

Toy Story 3 was straight-up about death.

They've gotten narrower and narrower, and more intent on dealing with the Big D as they've gone along. The third is all about it. There's not much space in that cycle for a fourth film.

Besides which, as someone who pretty much grew up parallel to Andy, it seems... wrong, to continue the series in his absence. People need to learn that the response to a good thing coming to an end is "I'm glad it came to a good end", not, "Fuck yeah! MORE! WOOOOOOOOOOH".

Not everything has to be run into the fucking ground. Not that Toy Story hasn't got some steam in it, but just let the fucking thing rest in peace at the height of its game.

There is absolutely no need for a fourth one, and to add one would ruin the amazing ending Toy Story 3 had. I felt the same way about Halo 4, which is why I will never buy it or see any further Toy Story movies.

yeah i do too when people mix them up. especially on shark tales.

I dont actually compare those two films too much. mostly cause they're for different audiences so one was allowed to get away with more. Both are good in their own merits. now if it were shark tales and finding nemo or something the like yeha.

but thats just my opinion on it.

Why? Toy Story doesn't need a 4th movie. What could they do here that isn't a retread of previous films. Also, considering that some random South American site is where this is originating, I am going to treat this as a rumor with no backing.

don't worry, i'm sure that they'll come to they're senses and make it! while they're at it, they should make finding nemo 2 as well. you all would like nemo 2, right? right?
