TCGs can be pretty time consuming hobbies. From Magic pokemon, what TCGs have grabbed you over the years?

I don't know about you, but I've wandered between several TCG's in my time and the one I got most addicted to and that which is my favourite, is the recently deceased "Chaotic" game. I wanted to know how many other people played it or enjoyed it on the escapist.

For those who have never played it, you may recall it's TV show, aimed heavily at kids, which failed to do the game any justice. In fact, 4kids marketing scheme (unsurprisingly) aimed the entire advertising revenue towards seven year olds, which really pulled in the wrong crowds. The game could be played offline, but each card had a unique code which could transfer it on to your online account to be played with online. The game itself was totally original, it had lizard-mages commanding gigantic warbeasts, brainwashing jellyfish and mind-controlling ant-people, the strategy aspect had loads of depth and really no other game could replicate the experience. Perhaps most impressive, each card had unique, random stats - Energy, power, speed, etc., that varied so even if you had the same card twice, the two would have different values.

Since I live in an area where very few other people would play TCGs, it was great being able to play online with a whole community all around the world.

So, has anyone heard of this/played it? Any other fans?

If not, what have you played?

Spent the last ten or so years floating in and out of MTG- it can be fun but finding fun people to play with can be hard.

I currently play Magic but I sometimes play Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh.

As for the Chaotic thing, it certainly rings a bell, especially the 4Kids aspect. However, I can't say I've played it or know anyone who has.

I play MTG a lot because my college has a Magic Club and we do booster drafts every thursday night with two of them every month being DCI sanctioned.

I used to be addicted to the pokemon game, but then quit and went to Yugioh which I quit after like 2 weeks then found Magic and have been playing that since.

My younger brother dragged me through Poke'mon and Yu-gi-oh.

Not my cup of tea, but he liked it. It was something to do with him that we both could enjoy.

I recently had a debate over weather magic the gathering was better than yu-gi-oh. I feel I won because magic has a deeper strategy and it doesn't have a tv show where people play it on motorcycles.
they said magic is dead but I think they're still coming out with new editions.

I have a stupidly large collection of Magic the Gathering cards thanks to my local thrift store and a smaller collection of Pokemon cards thanks to my childhood. I've never really played any of those though. I'm just in it for the collecting aspect.

Started playing Magic in 1999.
Actually read the rules in 2000.
Became a Judge in the DCI in 2001.
Got promoted to a L2 in 2006.
Quit after they made asinine rules changes in 2010.

I`ve been playing Magic recently; but in the past I played yugioh, Chaotic, a bit of Pokemon, and they all were amazing.

Magic: The Gathering and Yugioh (my friend pulled me back into yugioh not that long ago)

I never really got into the Pokemon tcg, it just seemed overly complicated compared to the games, which had flashy animations and less luck involved.

I went: Pokemon --> Yu-Gi-Oh --> Magic: The Gathering

I probably enjoyed Yu-Gi-Oh the most since more of my friends played it than aither of the other two. Sadly they all seem to be as expensive as eachother so I haven't touched any of them in years.

Nerd Fact: Me and my brother once made our own Yu-Gi-Oh cards by drawing our own monsters etc on blank playing cards. Then we found out there was an actual real-life card game. I still have them somewhere. :D

Yup, same xD The game always seemed to complicated for six-year old me. Looking at shiny Vaporeon > Learning the rules.
