How willing are you to trade in your old games? Do you actually trade in your games for new ones? I often trade in my games so that I can buy new ones, but this is due to a general lack of funds. I always feel a twinge of regret when trading in my games. Do you fellow Escapists feel it too?

I never trade in old games, because I enjoy collecting them. I'm well on my way to almost having every NES game ever created. [footnote]Never going to get all of them, because I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on games from the 80's, but I'm pretty close.[/footnote]

If i've beat them then what use to me are they just laying around i'd rather sell them and get something new and exciting though usually I circumvent this issue and just trade games with a few of my friends for a couple of weeks and it works out great.

Same here for N64.

OT: I agree with not trading them in. I don't think they'll value as well as NES games or N64 games, but it's worth collecting them then selling them for a thousand dollars when little kids in 2050 get all nostalgic and want to play 360 or PS3 games.

Title would be more clear with a Hyphen. I thought it was about stuff like Pokemon. I trade in games that I have no interest in playing anymore or that just flat out suck.

I never trade in games. I traded in 2 or 3 games a while back, and I've regretted it ever since.

I always trade in my games. All of them.

The only ones I haven't traded in are Burnout Revenge, Burnout Paradise and Destroy All Humans Path of the Furon.

No.

No no no no no. It's just not how I roll. Each game is an experience: some good, some terribly terribly awful. Thus I tend to collect them.

I am not adverse to lending though, as then I know it'll get used rather then just thrown out.

This, but just with PC games.

Not since I was 10 years old. I find it much more rewarding to have my games collect dust just to bust them out in nostalgia later.= on down the line. Will I ever sell a game again? No.

i am a trader for sure. alot of games do not have much replayability or much new to offer, so i get its value when its at its highest and i trade it back in after i have beaten the game to a pulp, and i tend to be able to buy a game or two used for the price of that game, then i beat those to a pulp, trade em back in..and the cycle continues...

therefore, i've probably played 2 to 3 times more games then some of my friends have who are complete packrats when it comes to games even though they never touch half of them ever again...

i keep the ones that i know i love and that i know ill replay, but for the most part they become extinct so sell em while they are hot.

I trade in games, mainly because I almost never replay them after I beat them. I still have a few 'older' games, but for the most part, I get rid of them all.

I never trade in games because I always think to myself that I'll want to replay them at some time in the future, plus I like collecting them.

I traded in most of my older GameCube/360 titles because I never played them after completing them and haven't regretted the move, though I did get a little sentimental with some of them.
