Could people please stop confusing Hinduism with Buddhism?
Some strains of Buddhist mythology do have the concept of the Asura. War spirits who are considered to be one of the 4 "unhappy births" (the others being reincarnation as an animal, a preta, or a being in Naraka {btw, I have no idea what those last 2 are, I'm just reading them off to you}.
The fact that both Hinduism and Buddhism have beings known as "asura" is in no way surprising, as Buddhism originally developed in India as an alternative to Brahmanism, the ancestor of modern Hinduism. The primary difference between Hinduism and Brahmanism, by my understanding, is that Hinduism incorporates Moksha, the equivalent of the Buddhist Nirvana, and only did this due to the rising popularity of Buddhism, Jainism, and other ascetic religions.
