There's a BIG FUCKING DIFFERENCE between "changing things up once in a while" and brutally murdering a well-established IP until it's corpse is completely unrecognizable and only identifiable by the name.Jesus Phish said:I think it looks fun.
I've never played a brothers in arms game before, but its obvious from peoples reactions that this is rather different. God forbid they change things up once in a while. I wouldn't take this as some kind of sign that you wont get another serious Brothers in Arms game. Perhaps they just got tired of making serious WW2 shooter games. Like everyone else did about 10 years ago.
Hell's Highway changed things up - it added a much needed cover system, a third squad, and even let you go all lone-wolf for a bit, making you feel totally badass while still keeping it very much within the realms of the series' established historical accuracy and very realistic game mechanics.
This on the other hand has totally thrown the historical accuracy, plausibility, and presumably the realistic gameplay, the very things that made Brothers in Arms Brothers in Arms, out the window, taken a TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME, and slapped the words "Brothers in Arms" on it. Frankly, most of those of us wanting to learn what happens to Baker's Squad are insulted. It would have been one thing if they'd just stopped making BiA to make this game and called it something else, but the simple fact that they're trying to convince us it's part of the same series by using the name is nothing short of absurd.
Oh, and to be honest I'd welcome a few more WWII games right now. I'm more sick of shooting terrorists and Russians than I am Nazis.
