At least the whole heat tracking maps and shit are free, but getting the maps may be more than enough incentive to sign up for it. Depends if it's a monthly membership or a one time pay for a year membership like Bungie Pro.

Although the trailer was mildly entertaining... :p

Agreed.

and who knows, If the map packs are halfway decent, I might, might just sign up. doubt it greatly, never know

that and the other incentives don't seem too bad..

So we need to pay to get access to some of the free features?

Could somebody send some dictionaries to all the publishers out there? I'm not sure they know what the word "free" means....

What? No, seriously, what are you talking about. No where did they say you had to pay to get the free features.
Seriously rewatch the video and quote to me exactly where they said any of the free feature had to be paid for in any way.

The disclaimers at the end. If a video explicitly needs that sort of disclaimers it means they've earlier mentioned something to warrant them, implying that paid features are free.

Uhhh... was I supposed to laugh?, even if they blatantly "reference" a pony?. First and foremost, I still see this shitty service as totally worthless and second, that must be one of the worst machinima I've ever seen.

Seriously Activision, Epic fail.

I don't get how you extrapolate from the disclaimers in the end to mean that somehow paid features will somehow be free...

I don't see what your beef with the trailer is, they made it pretty clear when they mentioned what is and isn't free. Every other video advertisement always has some sort of disclaimer or another (especially the comedic ones). It is to protect themselves so they don't ever get sued for false advertising.

"Some Call of Duty elite features mentioned in video require a paid call of duty elite membership"...yea the guy specifically said which features were free (the list that ended with the pony) and the ones that weren't the daily tournaments, prizes, etc.

Unless my ear need retuning (and at my age that's quite possible) "TheLEGENDofKarl" is the legendary comedic talent behind 2010's blockbuster "Yogi Bear": TJ "Ranger Jones" Miller!

Skip to 2:18 to see TJ on the Red Carpet

...a buddy at work insists that with Elite he'll be able to get more accurate matchups with non-cheaters since one has to pay-to-play which should (hopefully) seed out the cheats and a-holes. I only play CoD:BO when my daughter comes over (she has the game) and I can definitely say if it offers up a relatively accurate match-making service (which, really, the damned game should have in the first place!) then I could already see Elite being worth a look.

And I think a pony would be a great add-on, maybe something goofy for one's XBL/PSN avatars?

It makes me laugh how they keep trying to say that most of the content is free, but here they say there is a "ton more stuff" for paying. Trying to appease all the fans and sell it to them at the same time.
