Dark Souls: Hardcore Trailer

I have never wanted to be a knight more than while watching this game.

I'm now at level 36, I defeated the Gaping Dragon, and I've made it to Blight Town... But from the looks of this trailer it seems I still have a long way to go.

they forgot to add "...alot" to the end of that trailer. Probably would have been nice to also put "And have a few hundred for a new TV stashed somewhere"

Yeah thats precisely where I am, and it looks like the surface may have only been scratched.

That was a sexy trailer.

But the lack of Pyromancy distburbs me (firestorm is shown near the end, I payed 30,000 souls for that bastard and it's not even a great spell).

Now Great Chaos Fireball. That's a bloody fireball spell worth having.

The fact that I haven't gotten to play this game yet anger's me greatly. Stupid college town, not having a place to buy games in it.

Tell me about.

Just when you think you've reached the bottom of the game world, you'll find an elevator or mountain trail that goes down even further.
This game is like a neverending beehive.

Dark souls has me confused. I love the style of it, the dark atmosphere, gothic settings, and almost lovecraftian monsters make for a kind of game I've been wanting to play for a long time.

But...then there's the difficulty. I ain't a particularly good gamer, see. I excel at a couple of shooters, but that's it. I'm afraid if I get dark souls, all that will be achieved is a million deaths near the start of game, intense frustration, and a trade in within a couple of days.

Awesome strategy for the Gaping Dragon. Attack it while standing in the way of his falling... ribcage attack.
I'm at the same place as Shinji. Finding the end of Blight town is giving me trouble. That place is dangerous as heck.

I curse not having the cash to get this game yet, it appeals to me on so many levels.

This game is so boss. Went and killed the Moonlight Butterfly at level 22, learned that I technically wasn't even supposed to be there yet. So says the guides, but the game doesn't seem to really give a damn. Gonna go give that Capra Demon a good thrashing tonight.

On another note, the mini-guide blew my mind. I'm going to actually buy the physical copy because of it.

Amazing game. I played the living shit out of it for the first two days I had it, started several different characters till I found what I was looking for, and then had no time after playing a bandit. Great build, having a blast, easily as good as Demon's Souls. What a gem. Tonight... tonight it's on.

You have to resist the temptation to quit and sell. Dying and difficulty are essential features of the game, and you have to learn to think through and around them in order to progress. If you get it, keep one of your shooters handy to blow off steam when you get frustrated. I'm not a great gamer, either, and I'm still having fun along with the frustration of Dark Souls. ;)

Okay, I'm lost. On the one hand, there is a hell of a lot of games coming out this winter, and I'm going to have to cut back on them. On the other hand, this game looks so good!
Could anyone help me out? Is this the hard-as-balls but infinitely satisfying must-buy? Or the hard-as-balls don't-buy?
Please help!

Soul level 70 and Pretty far in I think! I absolutely love this game and am not entirely certain why i'm posting here when i could be back out there killing me some monsters and making my character even better!

Edit: To those who think blighttown is bad ( I know i did, rotten mosquitoes can burn in the fiery depths of hell for all eternity, that and the bloody poison but i digress...) Tomb of the giants is infinitely worse. The most punishing area I've played since I decided to download and play I Wanna Be The Guy. I dread going back through it in NG+....
